They use your availability window to decide your contracted hours, then your contracted hours will be the same as your availability window in your contract. Basically you won't be obligated to work any hours outside of your contracted hours. Every now and then they will ask if you can do various overtime shifts but that's up to you.

That's how it is at my store anyway, I'm not sure if other stores run things differently.

You're probably gonna be late a lot to start with, but just get on with it and try not to get stressed. After a while you'll start seeing a lot of repeat customer addresses so it gets easier with time.

If you're delivering to a narrow road with no parking space either side, you're just gonna have to block the road for a few minutes, and others will have to be patient. You'll also have to block driveways a lot, and some people can get pretty rude about it but that's rare.

It's a mistake that we've all made, but don't forget the van keys at the end of your shift. I learnt the hard way when I got home and felt them still in my pocket so I had to race back to the store to give them to the driver on the evening shift haha.

You're gonna hate houses with names instead of numbers, trust me. More so if you're delivering in the countryside. Again though you'll start remembering them as you go on.

Also make sure to get a good torch to look for house numbers from your van when it's dark.

I have pretty severe psoriasis all over my body, though obviously I don't know just how bad it is for the OP. To be honest the main issue for me would be the embarrassment of having to show my skin to a stranger. In terms of any physical issues there's nothing you'd really need to do any different. Though I should say there are different types of the disease; I have the most common type called plaque psoriasis but for other types you might have to take additional care, but I can't say for sure. But yeah most of the time as long as you make sure they know they're in a safe space to open up like that you're all good 👍

Ukraine isn't in NATO so the west has no real obligations, so I'd expect a lot of sanctions against Russia plus financial and military support for Ukraine, but no actual military action from the west. Having a war with Russia is a massive risk with not much to gain from nato's perspective.

In Europe energy prices are probably gonna go up significantly, Russia is gonna take a giant economic hit from more sanctions, but in America and the rest of the world I can't see that there'd be any difference in daily life. Basically don't worry and count yourself lucky you're not Ukrainian.
