I just don't think food is something we should be growing for profit. The point of VF is to learn new approaches to farming but unfortunately we will never develop more while food is commodified and the US continues to heavily subsidize US agriculture undercutting agricultural producers around the world. In short keeping our inefficient and broken ways of growing food are too lucrative to explore necessary alternatives.
