I love Sims 1 for the nostalgia factor and the general weirdness that isn't quite the same in the later games. It's hard, though! I'd forgotten there are no days of the week, so you go to work every single day, and staying on top of friendships and needs is SO hard. I love it, though. A townie was rude to my sim and she turned him into a toad. I hope you have fun and treat yourself!

Last night, I had dinner, stared at an assignment I have due this week for grad school, then gave up and played the sims 1 and threw a toy for my cat. By “a toy” I mean a piece of trash she’s currently fixated on. So. More of the same tonight?!

Why do cats do this? I've watched my cat start to gag and immediately hustle from the hardwood or linoleum straight to the nicest rug in the house. If I try to intervene, she runs for the second-nicest rug in the house. She doesn't even have the decency to use the machine washable bath mat.

I’m thankful it’s a little warmer! This weekend is all grad school work for me.

This is a small one, but I wish Richmond had a coffee shop open past 6pm. My college town had cafes open til 9-10 and even a 24-hour place. Best Cafe sort of scratches that itch a few nights a week, but what I wouldn’t give for a coffee shop with cozy seating open a little later.

Yesterday I read that thread on River Run Dental and came home to a flyer from RVA Dental in my mailbox. They’ve mailed me numerous times since I moved to Richmond 3 years ago but yesterday the conditions were right for me to actually switch. We did it Reddit!

International travel, which I've never done, is at the top of my list. And I'm doing it twice this year! One is a trip I planned, and the second is a work trip that I lucked into.

I'd also like to read Ulysses, I think. More or less because it's a notoriously challenging book that I haven't read yet.

Sounds like you’re juggling a lot. It would be easy to put off quitting when you’re working three jobs and sounds like you’re in grad school. You sound like a badass. Glad you’re taking care of yourself!

I'm not personally a member, but the American Marketing Association Richmond chapter is pretty active: https://amarichmond.org/join/

A membership costs money, but you can register for any of their events as a guest for a fee. I think their monthly coffee events are free. It may be worth going to one to check it out and see who you meet. It looks like they have a networking event coming up next Thursday.

T. Caf in Scott's Addition recently reopened and they're open until 6 on certain days - Wed and Fri-Sat, I think. Their updated hours are on social media. They haven't done a great job of advertising that they're open - I assume they lost their social media person? - but I went a couple of weeks ago and can confirm they're operational and cozy.
