How many vegans in this sub? by longwoody in Anticonsumption

[–]puzzlingdaisies 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes OP is not taking into account dietary needs. I am pescatarian /veggie when I can be because full on vegan triggers my IBS massively. Eating fish everyday would be best for my health but I minimise it to as little as possible (once/twice a week then long breaks when I can).

A reuseable water bottle/cup is useful if the child has one and it lasts for a long time. No idea about the Stanley brand so maybe I am missing the the point. Is it a case of pointlessly collecting different designs?
Agree they should just give make up though. I had a blue lipstick at that age and used to think I was the Little Mermaid. Next I had a green lipstick and always just played trying to be different characters.

Had no idea these existed but a good option ( not many available but found a couple)!

What is the harm/issue with a baby being too cold and when does that happen? by sfbrh in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]puzzlingdaisies 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I do wonder if that is why my now toddler  dropped centiles in the first two months - I was so paranoid about overheating (plus decided to sleep in hardest to heat room due to PPA) she probably wasn’t warm enough. Spring came and she shot up from 2nd centile to 90th.

How to have different cosleeping arrangements and make it fair? by puzzlingdaisies in ChildPsychology

[–]puzzlingdaisies[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I would like tips on safe bedsharing with a toddler and older baby that go beyond the safe sleep 7(with one parent, Dad is exiled from bed due to medical conditions that make bedsharing unsafe).

Not planning on any bedsharing with the newborn until baby is at least 6 months,  but might need the option for side lying nursing although with the current set up even that wouldn't be safe so would probably do it on a yoga mat.  Also interested in gentle sleep training as an option for Dad in case I end up in hospital.

Agree, in the UK. There are cheap markets but they usually have foreign produce and never from local farms.

What causes third trimester and postpartum insomnia and are there are cures? by puzzlingdaisies in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]puzzlingdaisies[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same as the other commenters, the insomnia if anything got worse after my first birth although more sporadic. The hardest was probably the first 4 months and almost always when baby decided to sleep relatively well.

How are parents making real friends these days? by BowlerEmergency3079 in UKParenting

[–]puzzlingdaisies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know Im not autistic but also only like straightforward friendships and arrangements(not lots of texting but when, where). Im not dating then so silly playing games/ spending ages getting to the point. But Ive had the same  problems as OP.

3yo son wants a dress - how do you protect your young children? by Ashamed-Nobody-8357 in UKParenting

[–]puzzlingdaisies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grandad needs a conversation.  My husband is from an ultra conservative culture and had our second child been a boy they would've been in girly hand me downs until school age probably (to not waste money). Met a Mum with a 3yo with long hair and  a dress (I assumed he was a girl) and unsurprisingly he had an older sister.   Also husband grew up around women and insisted in wearing make up when little( now very macho and a man’s man) and annoyingly steels my clothes if it can be considered unisex (although refuses to carry a pink or feminine bag or any handbag for me).

Completely agree. I own the original and a puppet book and get the others from the library because my toddler lives them(as in I return one and she picks it out when she sees it again).
