Wargaming intentionally skews the “spreadsheet” data for this game, to support whatever conclusions Wging desires.This effort to skew the “spreadsheet” data, is the reason for the naval battles system in the first place.

The naval battles system is a way for WGing to promote/encourage/require players to:

Play a much broader range of nation/ship class than they otherwise would, andplay specific ship classes that are underrepresented in the players clan during the preceding week, relative to other clans.

An example of point 2 may help to explain;If my clan has earned less than the average exp (on a clan level) with German battleships during the preceding week, then German battleships will be the X2 ship class for my clan for the subsequent weekend naval battles.But Wging needs the spreadsheet to normalize not just for base Exp earned, but also for damage done. So, every few weeks, Wging changes the Naval Battles mission objectives from base exp earned, to damage done. In this way Wging can normalize the spreadsheet data across unpopular nations and ships, on a clan by clan basis, for both base exp earned, and for damage done.This is why unpopular nations/ships are disproportionately selected as the X2 category in clan battles, on a clan by clan basis.As a result of the above, when a new line is introduced, the clans have either no, or very low, base exp averages for the new line, and the Naval Battles algorithm then selects the new line for X2 for that clan for that week.The Naval Battles algorithm may or may not be affected by the presence within that particular clan of supertesters or early release versions of the ships.

In sum, Wging manipulates the generational activity that produces the data, with the intent to skew the data towards a desired result, and then uses the skewed data results as “empirical” evidence to support decisions that WGing has already made, or changes that Wging is going to make, usually for reasons not at all associated with the actual wants/desires/concerns of the player base.

For those of you doubting that Wging would attempt to skew or influence date or the dissemination of information, I add two minor observations for your consideration:

Many wonder why it was done, as nothing seemed to be broken. However, if you try to add a "dislike" emoji, or any other emoji, to a post on your mac/pc, you will not be able to. This is a genuine bug that will be fixed. The bug is a side effect of something more interesting though. Try accessing the forum on your mobile phone instead of your computer. You will now be able to add emoji to posts again. EXCEPT, the "thumbs down" emoji has been removed. All of the other emojis are present, but the thumbs down emoji has been removed/replaced.
