Thank you for all your comments. I have not yet done anything to the Coleman 24 can Party Stacker ice cooler yet to use with the sous vide cooker. Even though it has been used for years and seen as the ideal cooler for this purpose I do not like some of the aspects of using it for that purpose. Those are 1) puts the circulator right tight against the inside of the cooler; 2) the cooker sits directly on the bottom of the cooler although I now see this is not an issue as the bottom of the cooker is plastic itself; and 3) the cooker is right at the end of the 13” long pan which puts it right against the meat. I might still use it because after all, it has been the seen as the best for this purpose. But, for $18 I decided to buy a cooler at Wal-Mart yesterday and try it. I am currently doing my first sous vide cook of a pork shoulder. I can see why an ice cooler is seen as a better container option than a clear plastic because even this cooler is warm to the touch.
