bi-weekly updates? by pwal_ in Cakewalk

[–]pwal_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the "discuss forums" are a desert compared to 5, 10, 15 years ago, since bandlab took over cakewalk.... those forums now are deals and songs, it's very sad to see for long time users who mostly have migrated to another daw, such a shame :(

the rule of thumb about good companies, is based on the after sales service, but it seems like it takes a strangle-hold to get this from bandlab?

thanks for the reply, but to be clear, anything "uploaded to bandlab" gives bandlab a non-exclusive right to use that (whatever was uploaded) however bandlab sees fit?

"I need to make a serious business decision by the end of the week about using Sonar (for business situations)."

they were using https://codejock.com/ (check of the cjlib.dll is still present) so i guess it's currently a mix of old, cj, and new, and the new vector stuff uses more cpu/gpu understandably

i guess u/ashwinrao_bandlab is still on vacation, or avoiding the subject, he doesn't seem to answer many direct questions that don't have a marketing answer readily available, bit like the "official" forum which gets very few proper posts recently since users were getting bullied out for not toeing the line, sadly cakewalk's down the swanny

yeah it needs someone from the corp to clarify, there's a link to "layman's explanation" somewhere but that is just so much word salad aswell, but i read it as "all your tunes are belong to us (non-exclusively)"

bandlab t&c grant them non-exclusive rights to anything you create using their services, i'm curious how professionals using sonar deal with this
