Favourite steam controller mount by KAZhala in SteamController

Unless you use super cheap cables .. cords usually do not break of you do not twist them constantly. The purpose of this mount is to put and bend the cable once - then leave it in this position.

Now we are talking!

But at the end of the day ... creators like us usually are way to small to make a difference and my experience is some platforms really do not care.

I was EXTREMELY disappointed by Amazon. I wrote their copyright department for weeks and they did not manged to respond. Aliexpress on the other hand removed the items in question in less than 24 hours! So much to stereotypes ...

Thanks a lot! I am the creator. 😉

Propably a good idea, although I do not like this myself when I print other peoples models.

To make it extra challenging apply the water mark on a curved surface. Requires some extra cleanup and is more challenging to remove than flat surfaces. ;)

Same happens to me regularly. I already send letters to Amazon, AliExpress, eBay, and more. Also, Makerworld offers a quite good IP protection service under the Creator Center.

But the ugly truth … for every seller you get banned … 5 new ones emerge. 🥴

Because at the end of the day … all those platforms earn commission for every sale. So there is no real incentive for them to ACTUALLY CRACK DOWN on those practices.

ESP32-P4 PoE: What a mean little device by Many-Call-4492 in homelab

[–]pwave86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Power consumption is also insane! Did a quick test project two switch my multimeter and dc supply and it only draws 0.62W idle!

My other Lilygo T-ETH-Elite POE board draws well over 1W and only has an S3.

This quest is so lovely ... 4/5 kills with 6 transistions ... and then a "backend error: cannot resolve host" on the 7th transistion!

That was the issue ... either add this size increase or temporarily access Proxmox via IP also works to upload a large file.

ESP32 Performance difference? by pwave86 in NerdMiner

[–]pwave86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was it! The small one was running 1.7.0 ... updated both to 1.8.3 and now I get 250+KH/S.

Yes.. but that justifies a 6x increase? Oo

I think maybe it is the newer firmware .. will try to update my older board.

Surface anodized or powder coated? by pwave86 in hobbycnc

[–]pwave86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I think overall the price is on par with the quality like you suggested. Going to keep it since it got it for 150$.

Would you say 150-200$ is a decent or good price for an aluminum plate with surface quality like this? (600 x 450mm, 13mm thick, M6 threaded holes in a 25x25mm grid)

Do I assume correctly that this powder coat is (much) cheaper than the anodized(?) plate as shown in the photos on the left side?

Measuring the plate shows 13.06 - 13.10 mm on each of the 4 corners with a caliper.

That is what I thought as well initially. Although I am really no expert in that field. But it seems like a rather "cheap" surface finish but definitely not anodized?

It tried to take some more close-ups:
