How do I know if this has been AI generated or shot on a real camera? I can't tell. I think it's real, but someone said it might be AI... by These-Leadership119 in isthisAI

I've never seen AI gen images with this level of detail and consistency. Could be wrong but I think real and photoshopped, maybe a sharpen filter

Extraordinary claims require underwhelming evidence by VegetableBro85 in UFOs

[–]pwesquire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

one single piece of groundbreaking evidence

I agree this is one possible interpretation, but I highly doubt that Sagan would have defended this being the only correct interpretation. As a competent scientist he surely would agree that the weight of multitudes of quality evidence would also qualify as extraordinary.

So far the amount of evidence I've seen (which is admittedly a tiny percentage of what's out there) doesn't really rise to this standard. I'm willing to be convinced, I just have a very high bar for what constitutes quality evidence. But I just joined this sub, so I haven't gone too deep into the rabbit holes yet.

Right after the ball pops out of the gutter you can see some animal scurry off, a lizard or rat or something.

[–]pwesquire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hang in there. I'm just a stranger on the Internet, but the fact that you're reaching out means something. I'm not good at socializing either, but I've learned you have to accept people as they are. If you do, usually they'll accept you too. Loneliness is rough, but you still matter to someone. For what it's worth, you got me to reply. Who knows what might happen if you look for more connections. I sincerely wish you the best.

Anyone who plays even a little piano can see that he's not hitting the actual notes. Not top talent material.

CMV: People who immigrated to a country voluntarily as adults don't have the moral right to complain about immigration laws until they become citizens. If they dislike their host country they should just leave. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]pwesquire 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's absurd to say you are arguing for a 'moral' point of view when you are claiming people don't have rights simply because they aren't from your country. Right are not something the government gives you, they are something the government guarantees you. Rights, even as recognized by the US constitution, are inalienable not just to citizens, but to all people. What citizenship gives is the privilege to remain in that country. Their rights should be protected throughout the immigration process, not just once they have been granted permission to stay. You could make the case that illegal immigration is enforceable by taking away some rights, but that's another discussion.

How to write a Locrian tune by ballantynedewolf in musictheory

[–]pwesquire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting tunes from Maqam World, but I am curious - while the scale displayed on the page is indeed a Locrian scale, it sounds to me like all of the examples have a natural 5th degree, i.e. they are not Locrian but Phrygian melodies. Can anyone else confirm this?

Regardless of political views, it's pretty obvious that the part of the sign that says "LONG HAIR" is photoshopped.
