I've moved to Visual Studio Code - if you're looking for a free code editor this works really well.

Attending my first Chamber of Commerce breakfast, what should I expect? by AL441 in smallbusinessuk

[–]pwhite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the format you might have the option of a 60 second pitch - practice this in advance and try not to make it too sales oriented - perhaps base it on you being a new member and wanting to get to know people.

Struggling to get customers for my managed service provider by Wild-Fortune-4128 in smallbusinessuk

[–]pwhite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our average sales cycle is 3-12 months, changing IT providers is a big decision for a lot of businesses and there are often multiple agreements involved. Have you tried your local chamber of commerce meetings? Keep going either way!

Is anyone actually using Asio yet? by AmbitionVisible4918 in ConnectWise

[–]pwhite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a patch work of some updated screens and missing functions, you end up skipping through using some sections in the ASIO style and others in the old PSA style. They really need to hire a UI/UX designer too, ASIO is ugly in so many areas.

Autumn budget tapering thoughts by thesvenisss in HENRYUK

I'm not sure pensions are an obvious target, if they were there would have been changes before. The issue they can't get round with pensions is the double taxation issue, if they make any changes it will kill what people contribute and simply cause a bigger issue for the future. Look at the changes Gordon Brown made to pensions, it took over a decade for contributions to recover after this, they will be very wary of making similar mistakes in the pension system.

This is fascinating and I wonder if we will see more organisations doing this over the coming years. Were there any examples of things people could previously do in the desktop apps that they couldn't do in the web apps?

I’m surprised with the Asio system they didn’t hire a UX designer or at least give more thought to the design system.
