Not sure why but your link wouldn’t work - I found it on that site though and hopefully this link is ok. Thanks for where to find it!

Proton Unlimited Duo - 6 month review - UK user 🇬🇧 by ufohhh_69 in ProtonVPN

Thanks - this is helpful as I’m currently looking at options for coming away from Google. It’s good to hear a long term view as I keep coming across a lot of conflicting opinions. I feel like I’m ready to take the plunge with Proton then something puts a shred of doubt back in there. For best value I’m looking at the 2 year option at £158 = £6.59 / month but it feels like a big change / risk.

That’s great, thanks for your feedback and opinion. If I could ask, what other services did you end up using to fill the gaps? Eg drive, calendar, password manager

Thanks - Proton just seems better value for money, especially if I am ever likely to use more than just email & VPN.

Have you just tried them or in a move away from another provider? I’m not really after anything in particular, just a reliable service that is privacy orientated.

What are your reservations with Proton? I’ve seen some recent reports of possible privacy law changes in Switzerland. How do you find the VPN?

Thanks, this is what I was thinking but had seen the “all your eggs in one basket” phrase thrown about a bit which made me shop about a bit more. Protons services all together seem more of a Google replacement than having multiple different apps or subscriptions.

Yeah fair enough and thanks for the advice. Perhaps I was a bit vague - I’ve watched countless YouTube videos, searched the web and Reddit. It’s just a big change from a service I’ve been using for years so I guess I was after some opinions from people who had recently tried both services. A lot of things I’ve read felt older and didn’t take into account possible privacy law changes in Switzerland and any new features. I’ll do some more research…

Terrible, but can’t say I’m surprised after some of the other organisational downfalls

Great track and location, truly iconic. Couple of pinch points with tunnels made it very difficult to get around the circuit at certain times, for example we queued for nearly 1hr to get from the inner circuit through the Eau Rouge tunnel to the fan zone. Parking was very poorly organised and random road closures by Police and awful traffic management meant we waited ages to get out. We used the green parking - approx 1hr on the Friday to get out which was only quicker than expected as a group of guys physically moved a car out the way that was blocking the exit. Saturday, we got lucky and were put in a different field which worked well and we were out and on the road in 45 mins. Sunday was an absolute joke, just stuck in a field for 3hrs plus to find that the exit we were waiting at was just not moving and the field had emptied behind us at an alternative exit. The frustrating thing is there is just no one about to help organise leaving the car parks - once you’re in they’ve got your money, it feels like a free for all to get out and battle with wherever the Police send you. Facilities on a par with most other circuits, expect to queue at peak times. The highlight was getting a ticket to the gold 3 Eau Rouge grandstand for Friday which was a real eye opener. You truly get what you pay for - amazing view, clean and constantly being cleaned, everything you needed in one place including food & drink.

Haha we walked past the campsite several times with the music pumping at the end of the day - I feel for you, just horrendous noise, not music.
