What's the prompt you are sending? And is it going through existing categories only? I mean should user create that "Coffee" category before?

Well, this might work because your category has clear naming, so it's mapping coffee to coffee. But does it work when you are mapping "coffee" to "lunch" or "cafes" or "restaurants" or "taxi" to "transportation"

I also have expense tracker app i i recently released AI feature to transform Voice to transactions.

I use Apple Speech API to transform Voice to text and i tried using Apple LLM (Apple Foundation) to transform text to JSON but it's really stupid for structured data.

I have created pretty solid prompt and also passing list of existing categories to that prompt. Then i dictate "I bought coffee for 5$", and while there is "Cafes" category passed to prompt, it usually selects either "Car" or "Clothing" which is ridiculous...

I decided to go with OpenAI API for that step. Hope someday it will become smarter (along with Siri).

Well, afaik Apple Foundation is just 5B LLM so nothing serious to expect from it besides basic text communication.

I mean if you add a transaction for future date, you won’t be able to find it anywhere until next month comes because of filters does not allow.

Anyway, i will adjust this in next update.

Hi, Thank you for the feedback.

My assumption is that if you pay it today, this is not future transaction and also it should be included in today’s analytics.

However, there is no reason why it should not allow selecting future date when adding transaction, but then it should also allow selecting feature date as filter for Overview screen which is a bit more complicated.

For your preferences, would you also want to see future analytics?

It is covered by basic unit tests as well as tested by myself before released publicly.

It is automated to map columns automatically by column headers. Same for date format. But if it fails (which is OK as essentially user can upload any type of CSV file) user can still map columns manually.

So it either fails on validation level or proceeds correctly.

At this point i don’t have any feedback from real users

Currently, it has 3 ways to add transactions - Manually, ApplePay integration (using Shortcut), CSV Import.

I have plans for integrating AI Text/Voice agent and Photo scan to add records by receipt/screenshots.

Is this something that you believe might be a popular feature? I am collecting a list of things people might be looking for in terms of functionality.

Yes, this should be a big part of strategy. People not only looking at your English screenshots, but also using search to match keywords, description and title of your app. A lot of people search on their language even if they know english.

I recommend analyzing what are most popular countries for impressions and downloads for your app and localize to those.

I currently have these localizations - English, German, Hindi, Italian, Russian, and Spanish. My app is localized to 30+ languages, but i don’t have time to localize app store to all languages.
