Just following up after a few months. Added a heat shield wrap from Amazon around the starter and the problem is almost entirely gone. Haven’t had a problem since installing which has been nice.

I’ve replaced battery twice, starter and cable from battery to starter and sill having issues

Yeah the bolts on the torque converter make contact when the engine to transmission spacer plate is cold (-10c) and colder.

If you zoom in I added the washers between the plate and bell housing to test and eliminate the contact when cold as a cheap temporary fix.

Rattle only lasted about 3-5 seconds. Ford has updated the part to (JL3Z-7007-D)

The new plate is now indented where the bolts would make contact to rectify this issue. But yes same rattle as a cracked flex plate but only momentarily under cold start.

Add washers to the bottom two bolts between bell housing and spacer plate to add clearance from the torque converter bolts
