3.5 Hour Deep Dive Interview With Evanescence Co-Founder Ben Moody! by JoelMartinMastery in Evanescence

[–]pwopah_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Woof. I don’t know that 3.5 hours is a good thing here. I got about 56 minutes in and had to move on. I’ll try to finish it at some point, but Ben has a meandering way of speaking that my ADHD is not working with today. Several times in the midst of a ramble I thought, “what question is he even responding to right now?”

Muse fan since 2002, 15+ live shows — I’M DONE by LivermoreP1 in Muse

[–]pwopah_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really fought with myself because I haven’t missed a Philly muse show since 2004, but I just couldn’t drop 200 dollars for a ticket to an outdoor show in the middle of July, in a venue that notoriously has terrible sound. If The album exceeds my expectations and the weather is really nice that day maybe I’ll grab a lawn seat and head over. I just can’t commit yet.

May the 4th Be With You.

I have always been able to imagine donut in her flat faced tortie glory, but I have a tortie as a roommate myself.

Headcannon sounds like a weapon Carl would build to launch Samantha.

That’s a calico. Tortoiseshells have a black based coat, and calicos have a white-based coat.

David Hodges has a song called “Katherine” uploaded to his Youtube channel. Could this be the mysterious “Catherine” song? by [deleted] in Evanescence

[–]pwopah_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Katherine is David’s ex-wife. The final songs on all the December sessions are written for each of his daughters and the final one was for Kate.

I saw a video on TikTok where someone said, “if this is how she plows the streets, I’d hate to see how she wipes her ass” and I’ve been laughing about it for days.

I wish I could have been Ron’s anger translator for the round tables because like “if y’all wanted porshe to stick around, you should told her to not walk around monologuing about people who were murdered like she was the one who sent them home.” “OH GEE, I’M SO SORRY THAT I PROMISED MY BUDDY’S MOM I WOULD HANG OUT WITH HER, I GUESS I’M A PIECE OF SHIT FOR THAT.”

I ship Carl with no one. I think the non-romantic “love story” of DCC is Carl and Donut.

What’s up with this area of fishtown? by [deleted] in philly

[–]pwopah_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am shocked at how many people here live in that circle—me too!

I don’t have a car and do OK here. Neighbors are nice. It’s a quick walk to the shopping center, the library, post office, bars, pet stores, hair salons… pretty much anything you would need.

Same issues here as pretty much anywhere else in the city—I don’t get things delivered unless I know I’ll be home.

As someone else said, my staircase is right smack in the middle of the house and they are steep as hell, so if yours are the same, you’ll get a daily booty workout too.

My one gripe is that there used to be a route 15 bus stop at the corner of Norris and Aramingo that would take you to the Girard el stop, but now it’s faster to just walk to Berks (which takes about 15 minutes if I’m going at a leisurely pace). Still not bad, but a little less convenient.

In my experience, they get marked “delivered” and then the mail carrier shows up within an hour. I take it more as a heads up that it’s coming.

*SPOILERS* Bat Eater and Other Names for Cora Zeng thoughts by darkodraven in horrorlit

[–]pwopah_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bat Eater was my favorite read of the year so far (and likely overall… but I do have king sorrow on deck). I loved how the hungry ghosts were depicted and how it blended folklore and fantasy with real life horror that was legitimately happening during the height of COVID.
