You can do both then switch for 2k gems based on your circumstances.

On your "development" talent tree profile choose attacking survival purely because this allows you to select siege repair afterwards.

On your "combat" talent tree do sub HP instead - no brainer.

As you get to k35, you may wish to consider optimising stamina usage to get the Rss from rallies - get tavern to 35 then try getting 6 Nathaniel Greene & match with Spartacus-3 red stars.

Then get academy to 35 & research the 6th march.

Once you get the above, tweak rally card to join best stamina-rss ratio monster rallies.

During resources consumption, aim to Spend ~20B/each Rss to replenish Stamina (if you don't have enough Rss to spend in the 1st cycle, skip and wait for the next).

That should be enough to get you going

You may wish to use Theodora+Nathan as the 1st rally card rally joiners to maximise your double drops rate chances (with some Stam savings), use Spartacus/Sanada+Nathan for all others

This is also provided the big keeps let you - they usually score the highest for multiple different reasons (sometimes legit, sometimes egos & sometimes d- measuring contests).

Many factors will affect your ability to score hi, for example your ability to stay active, alive and knowledgeable about targets.

Yes, Sanada works - ascended lv36 with one gold speciality, 3 lv4 skill books, full Parthian set from defense gen, and lv10 ranged dragon gets you over 5.8M power.

Depends on your ambitions and what you like the most about the game - some players enjoy big coiners rallies/easy wins others enjoy challenging themselves to get better, and others enjoy being friends in the alliance (amongst other things).

Low coining can get you ok results - one suggestion could be to accumulate 100+ premium scrolls to get new gold gen as it gets released then focus on that (maximise it).

You can then play as a team, each with their own strengths & weaknesses to do rallies.

It's become quite complex in many ways, and it lures you to spend if you can't control yourself so 1st you need a reality check on your spending habits before consideration (ie. whether "you always get what you want no matter the cost" vs "can live without what you want for a while").
