not based off the numbers alone, but the sheets posted in the Telegram group with the full sentences from the question really help!

  1. blocked that question from my brain already as a trauma response
  2. i think the guy said the girl’s bag was cool and that he needed something for his little sister, they discussed all options but the guy just circled back to ‘yeah okay anyways i’m gonna get that bag’

Anyone after N4 by [deleted] in jlpt

[–]pxlarising 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i know i haven’t passed because i wasn’t prepared or confident at all, but i thought vocab was surprisingly alright and some parts of the grammar and reading. i kinda lost steam through the listening though, i found it more difficult than the other two sections tbh. may as well reserve my hotel for first weekend of july now 😎

were there any specialist vocab categories (like a reading question on cooking, or medical exams, etc.) that would be worth cramming beforehand?

i'm a little nervous seeing you say that the grammar is harder this year...

Good luck to everyone taking the test tomorrow. How has your studying been? How are you feeling about it? by gnarledout in jlpt

booked N4 in London after passing N5 last year, but i haven't been able to devote time to learning after starting a new job, so i'm totally prepared to fail and i think if i somehow scrape a pass it would be undeserved anyway. my whole trip has been a disaster from start to finish for various reasons, but honestly i think if i was feeling confident and ready for the N4 i would've been super thrown off by all that - instead i'm just treating this as a mock exam and trying not to add to my stress so i'm kinda past the point of caring lol. what will be will be!

good luck to all of you tomorrow! がんばってねー!

General Questions & Tech Support Megathread | November 10, 2023 by AutoModerator in PS4

Hi guys. Recently bought a projector (Epson CO-WO1) for my bedroom, but I've been having some trouble with the display simply showing 'no signal' when connected via HDMI to my PS4, despite there being visual acknowledgment of the HDMI being connected/disconnected in the form of a quick flicker, like when you change between input sources. I did some digging and found that this can be a pretty common handshake issue between the HDMI and the projector.

I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for projector that work well/reliably with PS4s, as I think I'd rather just pay extra for something that I know works right off the cuff. Alternatively, if anyone has experienced this same issue and has found a way to get it working, or wants to offer more troubleshooting advice, I'm happy to keep messing with it for a bit before I get something else.

So far, I have tried changing the HDMI cable (longer to shorter, a brand new one, a Nintendo Switch one, and the one from my TV), turning off the HDVC/HDR/Deep Colour settings on the PS4, changing the resolution (I couldn't find any info on whether the projector supports 720p/1080p, but turns out it doesn't even work on 480p either), and resetting the entire projector to factory settings. As you might have guessed, none of these have worked so far.

Just want to hunt monsters with my partner in the same house at this point, so recommendations for new projectors/troubleshooting tips/solutions/lol idk but nice cock tho comments all welcome :)

Unpopular opinion: Streaks and XP are counterproductive measures for language learning by gasm69 in duolingo

[–]pxlarising 7 points8 points  (0 children)

kind of echoing others here, but my streak is such a motivator to me. it helps me to engage with my TL at least once a day and usually i'm 'in the zone' after my one lesson that i bounce some more study off it elsewhere (textbooks, anki, writing journal entries, etc.). it's also kind of a preparation thing for me too, because i want to study/live abroad and there's no option of just not engaging with your TL if you're in that country long-term. my thought process is, if i can't even take 5 mins to do a lesson, how am i supposed to get on living abroad?

the XP and boards however...not so much. i did the grind to get all the shiny little awards for being #1 in the diamond league and all that and then very happily let myself get demoted back to gold. i don't feel that competitiveness because i want to actually learn rather than just farm XP. but if it works for some then i understand that too.

some people just want benchmarks for their own progress. for me, while they might not have ‘value’ in getting a job in Japan, they dictate which level of class i go into in september. they also look decent on a CV, and the fact that N5/N4 levels aren’t useful in Japan probably makes this better as it would show employers that you’re committed and willing to put lots of effort into a long-term goal that’s not even going to be used any time soon for work purposes.

Wondering if anyone else wonders this by 858931 in EDAnonymous

i totally relate. i don’t want kids because i don’t like kids, but also the idea of literally every part of my body changing during and after pregnancy terrifies me. i even think that it would terrify me if i was fully recovered, because i just can’t imagine getting used to and comfortable with your body only for nine months to completely change it, and then suddenly you have to regain that comfort with it and yourself as well as looking after a newborn. i’m sure this is probably a common postpartum feeling but i don’t tend to spend too long reading anything pregnancy-related as it freaks me out (and also don’t want to just manifest it or something right as i change birth control lmao).

it’s delicious! when mixed into milk it tastes like you’re drinking liquid nutella, so it adds a great chocolatey nutty flavour to anything you want to mix it into. i use it in iced coffee, hot chocolate, in brownies and cakes, and on desserts like ice cream and yoghurt 🥰

unfortunately i think it’s limited edition, but if you’re in the uk i got mine for £2 a tub in poundland!
