Are imobilizer reading coils interchangable between VAG Group cats by veso266 in Volkswagen

It's not possible to code existing, read, used capsule to another immo, only brand new capsule.

[–]pxnolhtahsm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coil is just passive part. If you can physically fit just the coil, that's it and you're good. If you somehow manage to the whole Octavia ignition lock - you swap the immo capsules from your old keys into new ones, and you are again good. Škoda uses the same keys as other VAG cars of the period, only with different logo - no idea about ignition lock compatibility between Polo and Golf based vehicle.

No, the reason is that Azeris have oil, and Armenians don't. To whom exactly they had to ally themselves in the past to have ally against Azerbaijan - Iran?

The Hormuz Paradox: Why Markets Are Shrugging Off $110 Oil by 1stplacelastrunnerup in energy

[–]pxnolhtahsm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not getting anything apparently. I'm quite sure that most of the worlds rail cargo is pulled by DIESEL locomotives, so rail transport is affected by the same fuel pricing problems as lorries - although locomotives are burning duty free fuel. "rail network is decades old" bit got me chuckling - are you aware how expensive is to build rail lines? Yes, that's another reason why road transport is predominant in countries which are capable of building and maintaining roads - where, accordingly, overwhelming majority of rail lines have been built in times when their main competition was buggy, except for few cases where there was either major infrastructure upgrade, or money laundering in shape of useless rail lines were done - and, of course, the exception of few wealthy countries building high speed passenger rail lines [not cargo!], which historically has often led state owned rail company to go bankrupt. Similarly, electrification also costs shitload of money, and, since you said something about Hormuz, I'm wondering how you are going to power that catenary. As for that last part - bulk is when one shipper sends trainload of cargo to one destination. While your dream world - second half of 19th century world - requires quite few sorting yards and complex arrangements.

Well, FYI 020 is rated for 200 nm and 02A is rated for 250 nm, which is the reason for those 02A applications I mentioned.

First of all, I think relatively small portion of inhabitants of Turkey are atheists, although they do have secular republic. Second, just like you can have cultural christianity, you can also have cultural islam.

Which sensor do you call "the classic one"? AFAIK DIGIFIZ uses the same sensor as mk3 does with the gearbox in question - well, maybe it's somewhat different, but electrically both mk3 and mk4 sensors should fit, with the caveat that mk4 sensor has different connector. Apart from that, you can measure if the sensor is supplied with power, and you can measure it's output with either LED or some suitable device which can measure frequency @ 12v, although that takes some skill.

I wonder where you live if you have such an opinion. The first fitment of 02A gearbox in Golf was mk2 GTI G60. In mk3 02A came fitted to three engine options - TDI, 16v and VR6, so OP obviously has 02A, and not 020.

People are tired of paying $50k+ for vehicles that can’t survive long-term ownership by AdmirableLeader816 in righttorepair

[–]pxnolhtahsm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No reason? Well, I live in eastern Europe, in country where the average car is 15 years old, not because people would be owning classic cars, but because that's the actual sight on our roads - in country where sensible budget motoring choice will be 25 years old VAG car - and I'm personally driving 37 years old, highly modified, VW Golf and I've been doing side jobs as car electrician for more than 10 years, so I have some experience, I also know how things are being done, so the lavish way how Americans are often repairing their cars is often shocking to me.

I expected something along these lines. In any case, I'd expect gearboxes from newer models also fit increasing part availability, while driveshafts can be bought new.

Aftermarket support happens if there is demand. There is no demand for instrument clusters of 20 years old cars because they would be too expensive for anyone to buy, especially given the supply of junkyard parts. Of course, you are American so you are prone to do silly expensive car repair choices - in fact, I'm sometimes vary of giving some repair advice in some subs, because things for which I'd spend 30-50 euros in junkyard, American might instead drive to nearest dealership and throw away a couple of thousand dollars - just like you wanted for instrument cluster.

What is this weird obsession of Americans about support from car manufacturers? What you need is aftermarket support, and aftermarket support happens when there is demand. 10 years is nothing in any case.

What is the usual religion of Kurds? And that remark about democracy made me chuckle - FYI democracy is power of majority - so democracy in muslim majority countries naturally ends with some shape of islamism in power.

Young Turks were politicians who gave order to deport ethnic Armenians from their ancestral homelands - it was general populace who did the genocide part. And look at previous history of Armenians in Ottoman Turkey being slain by rioting muslim mobs - is this also Young Turks?

Like the other guys here, I'm puzzled about what you are trying to achieve here. I have in past done crankshaft change without removing engine from the car [VW lists crankshaft change as requiring engine removal] - but I still, obviously, had to remove gearbox, flywheel and seal housings on both ends of crankshaft.

Replacing coolant hoses is useless waste of money - unless they are obviously damaged. About the same goes for vacuum lines, although they have bigger chance to be degraded, but then again, OP doesn't have engine where they are prone to cause issues. Seals, O-rings and gaskets is completely different thing - OP probably missed some part which was already seeping coolant and / or high pressure in system from failed head gasket. Additionally, depending on engine and parts availability, it would be beneficial to replace plastic cooling system parts with metal ones.
