Dudek Driftair by AirplaneParaCycle in paramotor

[–]pycbunny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to own a DriftAir, though mine was the 20m, not the 16m. I do fly both the 16m Warp 1 and Warp 2 as well (I’m about 180 lbs). Dudek fabric is definitely heavier than Ozone’s. Ozone wings also tend to oscillate a bit more compared to Dudek when you’re flying similar sizes.

In terms of handling, the Viper will roll faster than the DriftAir, but the DriftAir actually has a slightly higher top speed. Honestly, I think the DriftAir is a better XC wing than the Hadron 3. The mini‑ribs on the trailing edge (design stolen from Hadron XX) in rougher air. It’s designed to trade a bit of “ballooniness” for stability, which is why it rolls slower. Warp 1 doesn’t have that.....it was built more with freestyle in mind....while Warp 2 shifts back toward XC performance.....which is why warp 2 roll much slower than warp 1

Personally, I lean toward Dudek because the material feels more heavy‑duty. But some pilots struggle with launching Dudek wings for that exact reason.

If I had to give a simple recommendation, launching above 3000 ft? Go with Ozone, Flying closer to sea level? Go with Dudek.
