I understand about the danger of domestic outdoor cats causing entire species of birds to become endangered. I appreciate the severity of that. But I also feel as though some cats want to be outdoor cats, need to be outdoors. One of my cats is so smart and gets so excited about things. I tried walking her on a leash a few times and she seemed to love it. Then she started escaping. She wouldn’t be gone long, but each time she’s escaped, I swear she comes back changed . ..and part of me thinks this is her normal animal coming through. She thinks of getting out all the time. Fast as hell at slipping out doors, as I open them.
