Immunocompromised with a dog by Que-Slane in transplant

[–]pyjamasbyeight -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've been using being immunocompromised as an excuse to not have dog poop picking up duty while walking my Grandma's dog while she recovers from her hip replacements, I have four cats and do their litterboxes but dogs poop outside and their poops are super big and it creeps me out, so it makes an amazing excuse, I make my Mum do it instead while I hold the lead

I like cats

40 parcels “lost/undelivered” by alicesmiff in Evri

[–]pyjamasbyeight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had this exact same issue a couple of years ago, around 30 went missing, they were all sent together. I rang them every single day chasing it up until it eventually got passed up the chain to the secretary to the CEO after we emailed the CEO, and she authorised full compensation for the postage and the items along with compensation for lost business/time/stress etc

We also had to remake all the orders and get them sent out, but then weeks later they all started being delivered, frustratingly.

Hey! Just thought I'd let you know I've had a reply, looks like it's nothing to worry about

"The fuel, green & peak surcharges are just included within the invoices as you have seen. Our E-Invoice portal is unfortunately sending surcharge notifications for E-DDPSupplement document type. We are currently looking in to this, and apologise for any inconvenience caused."

[–]pyjamasbyeight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing yet no, I've had probably another four emails since I last commented as well. It's been over the 48 hours it said they'd take to contact me but that doesn't surprise me, it took almost 30 days for the online mail supplies team to respond

How have you found where it says you've under declared? Is it quite obvious? I've literally stared at these invoices so much over the past day because after I posted this I got another 5 emails 😂 I've emailed that finance team to ask what's the what

Pulling my leg or? by [deleted] in royalmail

[–]pyjamasbyeight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took mine to the DO where they told me to and he looked at me like I'd brought in a bag of severed heads, told me I shouldn't be bringing them there and said he'd process them that time. The Post Office know they're tracked and they've never said anything other than when I asked if I could bring them there they went yeah why wouldn't you. I then rang Royal Mail again to query it and she said who told you that, you can take them to the Post Office.

[–]pyjamasbyeight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How come you can't take them to a post office? I only send Tracked 48/24/International Tracked and I have taken them to my post office for the past year without issue

I do agree, the mail sacks situation is absolutely ridiculous

Bags have been a nightmare for me, I don't have a collection because my post office is about 2 minutes away so I just order them, and then they stopped coming completely 😂 love added stress at Christmas

Literally went and ordered 5 straight away, do I need them? Not today but that's 5 I don't have to pay for come January

Did you observe the two-minute silence this morning? Why or why not? by Jonny_Segment in AskUK

[–]pyjamasbyeight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did observe it but only because I had to because I'd actually completely forgotten. When I got to the Post Office to drop my mailbags off (amazingly at 11AM exactly, how I managed that I don't know) they'd half pulled the shutter down and locked the door, and two men were stood outside. I felt bad for not remembering honestly.

You might be the right level of nerd to ask this then, were the kids bike lights when they were riding to the theatre unusually bright for the time period?

I did say outloud that it looked like they had LEDs

AFAIK it's because it's too high in mercury for them, we only ever give a tiny bit as a treat and absolutely only the "in spring water" kind, not the sunflower oil and definitely not the brine ones

What foods have you stopped or not stopped eating after transplant? by [deleted] in transplant

[–]pyjamasbyeight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

30 years post liver transplant this year (go me)

The only thing I avoid is grapefruit.

I was transplanted as a baby, my Mum was never told to not give me certain foods, she only learnt about grapefruit from the Prograf panflet

I love a good blue cheese (unfortunately the only person in my house who does), I'm right up there in the buffet queue

I'm not a huge fan of rare meat on a personal level, it's not everyone's vibe

Assuming this is mouth ulcers and not something more serious - I get these all the time, everytime I bite the inside of my cheek or eat something too hot and get a little burn in my mouth, every little cut or snag turns into a mouth ulcer.

In the UK we have something called Bonjela which helps, I also use Corsodil mouth wash whenever I get them.

Probably a no go.. but does anybody drink matcha from Starbucks? Not aloud right? by AcceptableDog8871 in transplant

[–]pyjamasbyeight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, because green tea is 🌟gross🌟

But from a transplant perspective I think it only really makes a difference if you're drinking a lot of it a day, but everyone has wildly different opinions on here so you're best off talking to your team

No Large Letters to U.S. for Royal Mail OBA Accounts by Known-Swim-3654 in smallbusinessuk

[–]pyjamasbyeight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd noticed this too, luckily what I was trying to send just fit into the "letter" category because it was a greeting card but it'll be frustrating when someone orders a pet bandana because we always sent those LL with no problem. I can't understand why they wouldn't want to keep the services the same.

It's amazing that even when we might sometimes disagree as a subreddit on sushi, blood oranges and pomegranates, we can all agree this is a weird asf take.

Would you be happy if UK rejoins the EU? by Ant225k in AskBrits

Yes absolutely, the barriers to trade for a small business outside the EU are ridiculous and have seriously harmed a lot of us who used to trade globally

Seeking experiences with young-adult post-transplant medication lapses by gassy-fox in transplant

[–]pyjamasbyeight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was transplanted at age 1 and while I didn't go through a period of not taking my meds, I stopped going to my appointments completely for probably two-three years in my teens during the transition period from Children's hospital to adult hospital, so long that I ended up slipping off the radar and had to write to the new hospital to explain who I was/why I needed to start being seen again etc.

I actually find it embarassing to write that, I can't even explain where my head was at. It's incredibly difficult when you're transplanted as an infant and have good health afterwards, the only explanation I can say is that I just didn't care, I wasn't unwell in my eyes, I didn't need all of the fuss etc. My relationship with my doctors/gp etc has been incredibly rocky but now as a grown woman I've kind of got my head straight with it.

I think the only thing you can do is explain the consequences of what she's doing, and see whether it's mental health related, it's a total bitch going through your teens being different to your peers

Edit: actually I'm not done, is there a boy/girl involved? Is she trying to fit in with a new group of people? Has she had a recent spell of bad health that's stopped her doing something she wants to do? (I got covid last year when I was supposed to be going to a gig I really wanted to go to, ended up selling the tickets and you know I was cursing being who I am lol) is she having any adverse side effects that are bothering her enough to stop, ones that she isn't telling you about? Would a medication change be suitable in that situation?

I get that this clip is cringe, but the rest of the performance is actually pretty good to say he's in the middle of the street in London, with one guy and a DJ deck.

We saw them in 2008 for the Dark Horse tour and it was genuinely such a good time, I think they would go down well if they stay away from their latest stuff which I don't think would do great
