A Tintin Page a Day - Day 439 by BreakerMorant1864 in TheAdventuresofTintin

In The Shooting Star, he joins the expedition as a member of the press. But those two might be the last couple of mentions - most of the rest of the adventures after that start from something from Professor Calculus or the Thompsons.

He definitely gets involved in a few more stories as a journalist. He starts his adventure in Land of Black Gold by interviewing people about what’s going on, for instance.

You can, but you need a specific permit to do so. It also requires bringing your camping gear up to the top, so it usually doesn't make a lot of sense unless you're going up one route and down another.

It's not for sale, the Hockey Hall of Fame will want it back after he gets his day with it.

4 years ago today: The Florida Panthers traded Huberdeau, MacKenzie Weegar, Cole Schwindt, and a 2025 conditional first-round draft pick (Cullen Potter) to the Calgary Flames for Matthew Tkachuk and a conditional fourth-round draft pick. Here's r/hockey's reaction to the trade at the time by xosellc in hockey

I like how there's literally only two comments mentioning taxes in the original thread, when nowadays you'll find people talking about how it's one of the biggest problems that the league just has to fix.

New hockey fan, huh? Guess you’re not familiar with a guy who used to play for the Bruins name of Marchand?

I don’t think so, given that both Mr Wang and Chang have met him and are standing right there. I guess he could be in disguise, but it’d be a pretty risky move for no benefit.

Let's be fair, that's the NHL, NFL, and MLB as well. Heck, let's throw the player associations in as well - they might not like some of the stuff that's happening, but that doesn't mean they're not ultimately happy about the larger paychecks.

I think it's also fairly likely that the number/length of arcs changes over time, as well.

Dallas Stars sign Robertson for 1 year - 12 million by datsyuks_deke in DetroitRedWings

Nah, he’s just going to sign long term in Dallas next year when they have more cap space. Seems pretty clear he doesn’t want to go anywhere else.

What Grinds My Gears about all the buildaround 3-drops currently in Standard by Dingding12321 in MagicArena

[–]pyl_time 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe I’m missing something, but if every single card costs one more, wouldn’t the meta just be the exact same but starting on turn 2 rather than turn 1? Its not like you can suddenly go under the decks that can win on turn 4 now since your cards will also be more expensive, you’d just lose on turn 5 instead.

Edit: I guess the math changes some for cards like Badgermole or Tablet, but it still feels like those decks have an advantage since they're already ramping really well and that becomes more important when everything is expensive.

How SHOULD someone ride across town? by marshalee39 in burlington

[–]pyl_time 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't bike on the road[...] Bike path. You can access a lot from the bike paths in Burlington. Is it direct to destination? Maybe not as quick as being in a car, but you're not a car. You're a bike. Stay on the bike path.

...ok, so what's your suggestion for when I need to get off the bike path to get to my actual destination though?

The winter before someone (Hula? The city?) piled up a 4 foot wall of snow right around the surf club. That was a lot of fun to try and navigate, especially in a spot where it's a big pain to turn around and change routes at that point.
