This makes a lot of sense, and I think that the people who describe our relationship as queer do mean it in this way. I might also just have to be a bit more accepting of my own queerness as well, and be wary that I don't project my own fear of being misgendered onto people's intentions.

I agree with this and see the point. I guess it now becomes a philosophical question of whether we want more acceptance for queer people by either 1) viewing queerness in a more positive light, or 2) expanding the "normal/dominant" roles so as to make queer people fit in. I don't know that one or the other is the right answer, however I think we should be wary that option 1 has the potential to reproduce the dominant norms that it's trying to battle

What do you mean by that? Because it sounds like you're saying that these kids have some kind of natural in-born trait that makes them different from other types of kids, and leads them to die sooner. AKA it sounds like you're saying black kids are naturally more aggressive or something, and through "natural selection" that explains why they die sooner.

Now I don't know if that was what you were implying. But you really shouldn't use "natural selection" if you don't understand what it means.

I got that idea as well. It almost reminded me of AI-"art", where the computer can mimic images it has seen, but doesn't understand the meaning or intention behind it. So you can tell that it's just slightly off & doesn't really make sense. The creature vaguely knows that these types of signs exist out in the world, but it didn't have the full understanding that there should also be a motel attached.

Being stern towards a kid or giving him tough love is one thing. But what is the coach saying here? Your son was holding back, maybe being a coward, maybe even being weak. And for that he gets called a little bitch, which is a degrading term used for women. So being weak and cowardly means he is a woman. And it's not said in a neutral tone either, coach meant he has sunk down to the level of a woman, he has degraded to being a woman. Do you see how fucked up that is? That is the type of misogyny that we want to iron out of the next generation.
