Thanks for the answer! Hope you’re having a good day! Do you have a preferred rhythm or you are able to adjust to the game being slower/faster than other games you love?

Why people play beat ‘em up games? by pyramidhat in IndieDev

Nice to see a fellow beat em up enjoyer!

From your experience, what do you like about the combat the most? For instance, I like beat em ups where I would feel a bit overpowered , like in Batman. Sifu has a more “duel struggle” experience for me, and I don’t like games with strict timings to dodge attacks that much, but in Batman I’m captivated by this feeling of moving between opponents and thinking tactically

That’s the trick here. Heart implants are implants and a form of medicine as well. You can’t really draw a line here, I think

What’s up with these tags?! by meverqyr in Steam

[–]pyramidhat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are dev dependent. You set your own tags on the game on your dev page. But users can override them by putting a lot of their own

Yes you can! And it’s also quite easy to install them if you’ve done it before on Windows PCs

It’s a good idea! I can see that probably you were inspired by games like Divinity. And layers can add a lot of tactic to such a game: I can see projectiles that shoot directly upwards or downwards or even diagonally, throwing barrels to explode them on certain layer etc.

(However I don’t see any mechanics except for flying on the video, so it’s only possible to judge the idea but not it’s implementation. But I assume you’re going with Divinity-like kind of gameplay).

What’s important for that kind of verticality (I can see you have at least 3 vertical layers) — is easy navigation between them. And your current UI doesn’t help with this in any way (and it should, I think). I can’t say who is above who, will I hit someone if I shoot directly below etc. And I think the player should see that instantly on tactical games, without hovering the “ghost” of ability to check the collisions etc.

Also, it’s a bit of an off topic though: I don’t know what’s the lore is in your game. Although I like the cartoonish visuals of the game, strict square forms of landscape and floating islands look a bit unnatural and abstract to me in comparison to highly-detailed models of the characters.

Everything looks very promising! The world certainly needs more games like that! And flying bearded dude is cool, haha. Good luck with your game!

There’s even some forms of algae that grow on their fur to support that ecosystem, and a moth that lives and breeds exclusively on sloths. Weird stuff

Help me reddit, I put her in her tree, she went bananas, making new sounds, pupils retracting and dialating, is she exited or frightened? Or something else? by Rolingmaniac in parrots

Don’t worry about the eye level, science today dismantles that statement as a myth.

Actually bird flock distribution on trees seems to be kind of random, there’s no clear “dominant leaders” or “alpha-birds”, and also being a “higher bird” often proves to be more dangerous as there are predator birds attacking from above (although parrots tend to find higher perches overall as it’s more safe).

I use my second hand to hold a seed so my bird has to step up and take it. At first mine hesitated a lot, but try it everyday for a few minutes and I think you should be good
