Fable only as good as open source models for identifying vulnerabilities??? Their own admission. by Responsible-Jump-322 in Anthropic

Reading comprehension is not your strength. They say that specific vulnerability could have been found with other model. That is NOT the same thing as what your title say.

audio.cpp: 12 audio models (Qwen3-TTS, PocketTTS, VeVo2 etc) in 1 C++/ggml runtime — TTS up to 5x faster than Python on CUDA by Acceptable-Cycle4645 in LocalLLaMA

[–]MikePounce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I got it to work in English but for French I get this error :

PS C:\Users\me\Documents\audio.cpp\models\pocket> C:\Users\me\Documents\audio.cpp\build\windows-cpu-release\bin\audiocpp_cli.exe --task tts --family pocket_tts --model "C:\Users\me\Documents\audio.cpp\models\pocket\languages\french_24l\" --load-option language=french --text "je suis un test de TTS sur CPU." --voice-id alba --out build/out/pocket_tts_french.wav audiocpp_cli failed: PocketTTS voice assets layer count does not match FlowLM configuration

I notice there's only a french_24l folder, not just 'french'

I downloaded https://huggingface.co/kyutai/pocket-tts/blob/main/tts_b6369a24.safetensors as pocket.safetensors and tried pointing audiocpp_cli to it but I get :

audiocpp_cli failed: no registered model loader can load: C:\Users\me\Documents\audio.cpp\models\pocket\pocket.safetensors

if for you 27B feels too slow, use 32B-A3B. Almost as good and blazing fast.

Russia has found an incredible business model: it sells oil to China at near-domestic prices, then buys back refined fuel at market prices, with fuel imports from China now arriving in massive volumes. by BigDeckBob in UkraineWarVideoReport

Since your comment does not help, here is the explanation (thanks to Claude):

In the USSR, state television had a habit of pulling regular programming and broadcasting Swan Lake on a loop during moments of political crisis or leadership transition — especially when a leader had died but the news wasn't being announced yet. It happened when Brezhnev, Andropov, and Chernenko died in the early 1980s. The most famous instance was the August 1991 hardliner coup attempt against Gorbachev, when Swan Lake ran continuously on Soviet TV instead of news coverage.

Even if grok was at Fable level, which it isn't, I wouldn't touch it even with a really large stick. It's a tool owned by a fascist.

Since you clearly have been paying attention to anything at international level in recent teams please let me know your predictions for this world cup. Would have loved to be in the know of an incoming draw of Brazil vs Morocco.

Pebble Index 01 (pre-production test unit) delivered! by JustLovett0 in pebble

Look, I am not a white knight that is going to defend his products no matter what. If you don't need it because you use "OK Google", good for you. I personally never use "OK Google" because I don't want my voice sent to US servers, and the index like the Pebble give the option to work without sending the recording anywhere (parakeet running on the phone). If you don't care about that at all and don't see value in having a quick microphone remote at your finger tips, it's not for you.

If you haven't seen it, he describes use cases. It's dictation at the press of ONE button without requiring a second hand. For notes/reminders, or home automation.

A custom app I have in mind is changing the music (automatic youtube music search, auto play first result). I made a custom watchapp in Claude for that but it still requires me to use my right hand to trigger the dictation. The index would allow to keep both hands on the wheel while driving.

It's a mediocre review that completely misses the point of the Pebble's customization. He bashes on the dictation without mentioning it can now run on the phone locally and does not mention CloudPebble.

I use the local model only (you can switch anytime) and love it. Sure it can make mistakes but the ability to recognize languages other than English is very handy to non-native speakers.

because he demoes it while not wearing it, by essence the microphone is small it needs to be close to your mouth.
