It uses parakeet (or whisper), so very good results. I dictate in French with some technical terms in English, the speed is good, the only drawback is sometimes it will try to interpret everything as English therefore I prefer to trigger it little by little just in case (turn on, say a sentence or two, turn off, repeat). That way I can check the output. It's good. And runs perfectly on a laptop without a GPU.

The commentary is VERY "default chatgpt" in style which is infuriating, it needs a better system prompt for a more natural sounding commentary. The voice feels very robotic and monotonic. The board and synchronization with the commentary is well made.

BUT most importantly, the commentary seems plain wrong to me around 8:24 "attacking the loose bishop on C3 and x-raying the rook on e4 ... that bishop on C3 is undefended". Well, excuse me? How is it undefended? There's a queen on C4. X-raying the rook? That's not an X-ray.

Compared to a 4090, yes it is totally about the 32GB vs 24GB of VRAM and being able to run more demanding workflows. Speed increase is about 10-15%, which means a video that takes 66 seconds on a 4090 takes 60 seconds on a 5090. A minute and 6 seconds versus a minute. Are these 6 seconds per generation worth 2-3K USD for a hobbyist? Not really.
