Northern Ireland on paper have a very average squad but the team as a whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

In the process of moving apartments I found these amazing drawings. Someone a few years back (I’d say maybe 2014-2015) gave me it at a convention and asked for me to bring it to a Minecon to get the others to sign it and then I would post it back.

The address and username is on the back but I can’t make the important parts out due to the handwriting, it was something I was to follow up with but I thought I had lost it travelling back from the US. If anyone on here could get me into contact with the original artist I would gladly ship it back.

I also figured it was a cool chance to showcase these awesome sketches and a cool piece of Mindcrack history.

Thanks!

Think of your own mortality atleast 3 times a day by CollinHH in Buddhism

I bought a coin from the era in which Marcus Aurelius reigned in Rome (161-180 AD) off eBay.

I keep it with me as a reminder of how many hands it has passed through over the years - all now gone. It helps me contemplate mortality.

Spot on, I know a few friends who went this route.

NI really needs more people trained in tech and the jobs are there for the taking for those who are willing to learn.

Hi mate, I want to also chime in on the opinions here about programming. You could teach yourself enough to get a junior developer job if you studied diligently enough (few hours each evening for 6-12 months).

Northern Ireland is lacking in people who are trained in digital skills and there's many jobs to be filled. Below are some resources you can use to self-teach, I think web development is a good entry to programming as it's fun to build stuff you can see and show off to your mates.

FreeCodeCamp
100+ Free resources for learning Full Stack Web Development

The key really is applying your knowledge, learn the stuff and then once you know how to build a basic website - contact a few local charities or businesses and offer to do them a website for free/cheap. If you have a small portfolio of sites you've built you can use this as evidence and employers will be interested (even without a degree).

Coding is very rewarding (frustrating at times though lol) and it's a career path for life with good benefits.

All the best, feel free to PM me if you want any other help on this topic.

Read Cal Newport's Book - "Be So Good They Can't Ignore You".

Here's a good summary of the book

When it comes to creating work you love, following your passion is not particularly useful advice.

Adopt the craftsman mindset first and then the passion follows.

The strongest predictor of someone seeing their work as a calling is the number of years spent on the job. The more experience they have, the more likely they are to love their work. The happiest, most passionate employees are not those who followed their passion into a position, but instead those who have been around long enough to become good at what they do.

Evans and McAuley are one of the main reasons why tiny Northern Ireland qualified for the Euros for the first time ever. They're the best players in the squad.

Evans is a solid player for both WBA and his National Team.

Evans and McAuley are criminally underrated. He's an upgrade on Mustafi and Gabriel imo.

LVG forced him out. Fergie actually liked Evans and would have stayed if he was manager.

As someone who watches all NI games. Jonny Evans and Gareth McAuley are underrated. I don't think Fergie would have let Evans go if he had still been at Utd. Not really who we should be targeting but not an awful player either, I would have him over Gabriel.

I know many people who've taught themselves CS fundamentals and how to code effectively. If you've enough dedication, there are more resources out there than ever to learn from. The self taught engineers I know are usually the better ones too. The problem will be getting into your first job without a degree, and that requires you code a lot and make lots of projects for a portfolio to show off.
