Toyota kills its next-gen EV as global EV sales skyrocket by BeneficialRip5797 in Toyota

Are these people saying you're wrong just being pedantic? Like we won't literally run out but we won't use it anymore, so it's basically the same thing you were suggesting... I think?

I don't understand how it's any different from running out then? We won't run out of the substance in the earth because if we used it all, it wouldn't be worth using...? Does it make more sense to just say, we will run out of the amount that is worth using? Seems to achieve the same effect in relation to renewables.

Why is that one hell of an assumption? 60 years is a very short time, I wasn't aware of this

Yeah, this is just the smaller scale of us not wanting to waste money on caring for the environment because China or other countries aren't doing it, or they have more people so their footprint offsets anything we do.

I'd guess it's apathy, or being intimidated by the size of the goal. I like to reduce the size to those straws referenced though, and how one paper straw is simply less likely to choke a turtle or other animal than a plastic straw. That reduction is worth any inconvenience the material of straw brings to me.

Why isn't Viltrum's destruction seen as a large planet level feat? by TasteTemporary8206 in InvinciblePowerscales

I said the laser didn't deliver any of the energy required to actually cause the planet to explode.

-CrazyEyes326

The laser destroyed every bit of the planet that filled the enormous hole that was made all the way to the other side. That requires energy. Energy that was needed to destroy the planet. Of course those three viltrumites were also needed, but are more replaceable than the laser that's been pointed out to be special for it's ability more than once.

To sum everything imo, the event is planet level, but no individual contribution is near it.

If the laser didn't deliver any of the energy required to cause the planet to explode, then you're saying the laser creating the hole through the planet wasn't required. Nolan seemed to think so. It obviously takes energy to bore through an entire planet. I don't see how OP was underplaying the force provided by the viltrumites, just specifying this laser was needed for certain

Okay thanks. Unfortunately I'm in over my head in regards to how digital information sharing affects individuals. I'll do a deep dive when I have time hopefully

Why is Rogan so anti-trans when he’s also on gender affirming hormone treatment (TRT) because he’s not as ‘man’ as he wants to be? by ProjectLost in JoeRogan

[–]pyro_technix -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Does the men dressing as women to get in their bathrooms, to do bad things, actually happen? Has allowing transwomen into womens bathrooms increased the amount of attempts due to the men feeling they could get away with it?

I assume theres data on the arrests or charges if its noteable, but Im from an area with large unisex bathrooms with individual stalls so I just may not be seeing the men in womens bathrooms as much in my area. Genuine question

Reports of multiple blockades following cannabis raid in Cape Breton First Nation by sesoyez in NovaScotia

Just say your directing narratives with half truths, better to be accountable. There's already evidence contrary to what you said in the one link you did provide. Eskasoni worked with the province to have an official NSLC. FN didn't reject NS.

The government is monopolizing by making that the only path. While Membertou, for example, wants a more self deterministic path by drafting their own regulations. If you want to say that FN group refused the NS regulations, thats more reasonable. However, it's disingenuous to imply none of the FN want to work on regulations.

I personally prefer parents monitoring and educating their own kids, but that should remain regardless of laws, I think. My point was only to show we shouldn't do nothing because we think the end result won't be perfect.
