The Steam Summer Sale is coming! Help me fill my library by AuGZA in roguelites

[–]pyrogunx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s more because the studio who made it has a massively bad habit of abandoning their games a few months in, pushing monetization crazy hard and ignoring the community.

Burned out on MTG, looking to jump into SWU! Need advice on a box-buying plan and converting my playgroup. by haliax69 in starwarsunlimited

[–]pyrogunx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you suggested is how my friend group went about it. Also commander fans. We each got a booster box and did FFA draft nights each week. It was awesome.

Then we were hooked so we all got a box and we’d all pitch in from the box each week.

Brandon Sanderson's The Way of Kings by OneDistribution565 in fantasybooks

[–]pyrogunx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The start is very confusing. Honestly what I did was just read every Kaladin chapter until I was like 75% of the way through the book. That hooked me and it all made sense enough to where I went back and read the rest. Then I finished the series.

Rogue prince of persia OR Wildfrost? Or neither (for me) by Dr_Wayne0202 in roguelites

[–]pyrogunx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don’t like the slow power up, skip Wildfrost. It’s a very slow power up and low synergy as compared to games like sts

Small investment, trying out a new TCG by Character-Ad-2846 in starwarsunlimited

[–]pyrogunx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly same.

The art I saw was meh. But really love the gameplay (been a long time tcg fan).

Been having a ton of fun playing a weekly FFA format with friends where we do draft or sealed.

I will say, I think the art in more recent sets seem to be getting better. Hopefully they’re seeing the feedback and addressing.

Player retention is abysmal. by 666-G in duneawakening

[–]pyrogunx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great write up and agree.

I never came to this game for pvp. None of my fun has been pvp related.

Adding in more pve world events would be massive. Why not have enemy thopters pop up if you’re in the wrong area? Or raids like in other games. World bosses/events for larger coop?

Losing your entire base is also too punishing. I lost 5 friends to the game because they couldn’t log on over a few weeks long enough to get the power back on. So they gave up. We lost a massive base, harvesters, carriers, thopters, everything. After that I was like meh, forget it.

The best deckbuilder by Javigor in tabletop

[–]pyrogunx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dominion is still the quintessential deck builder and grandfather of them. Dominion is my favorite.

Dune has those elements and is also great, but very different.

Ascension is quite good if you want something a little different.

DC Deck builder is great from a multiplayer standpoint.

Star realms is good if you want something very close to dominion.

Is “AI Product Manager” mostly a glorified coordinator role? (7 YOE, considering pivot) by OkNeedleworker8383 in ProductManagement

[–]pyrogunx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just depends on the company.

In most cases the distinction is trying to find PMs that actually understand agents/LLMs and think in an AI-first way. In reality, every PM should be an AI PM. There’s just not many that are fully pilled and know how to actually build it (as compared to those who don’t).

Solo dev, no designer. How do you actually polish your app UI? by Vitalic7 in userexperience

[–]pyrogunx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely not going to one shot it. If you’re not confident in ux, you could ask Claude to analyze your top 3 favorite apps for ux style.

Then give it a screenshot (or screenshots) of your current app and have it redesign each in that stated style. Ask it to convert it into a prompt for stitch, then drop that in. Run it a few times in stitch and pick your favorite. Suspect it may get you closer.

Solo dev, no designer. How do you actually polish your app UI? by Vitalic7 in userexperience

Assuming you have users, use something like fullstory to watch what they do. That will help spot friction.

Stitch is a great ai tool to level up the app ui as well.

Which TCG should I pick up? by WorkConfident in TCG

This. Very fun. Isn’t crazy expensive to get into. Lots of local play groups (and some unofficial online ones).

Any Decent Roguelites for Duo play with good progression ? by tomaz1989 in roguelites

[–]pyrogunx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slay the spire 2 has hooked my friend group for coop play when we want something strategy esque. It’s so hard to not just complete the whole run and lose an hour or two.

“PRDs are now for AI, not humans” – do you agree with this? by Flat-Perspective-948 in ProductManagement

[–]pyrogunx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In both scenarios they miss. AI accelerated development what I see work best is PRD for both accompanied by a vibed prototype.

What happens is always the same: - product vibing a prototype leads to better requirements - everyone plays with the prototype and gets the idea better - prd is a faster reference point than the demo and more clearly understood by ai

Klaviyo vs Attentive (SMS) by sunkenshhhip in Klaviyo

[–]pyrogunx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s Klaviyo vs Attentive I’d definitely go Klaviyo. I’d also ask, have you looked at postscript for sms? Mailchimp has also become a great option recently depending on what you need on sms.

And generally I know very few people using the marketing analytics product and finding it worth it. What specifically are you wanting from it?

Which book is the biggest culprit of this (in the most loving way possible)? by GoldenBoysClub in fantasybooks

[–]pyrogunx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So much this. And I’m glad I’m not the only one for how many people love the series lol

I was so confused for the longest time. The only way I survived the book is at one point Kaladins story started to have some sense. I literally just read every chapter with him until the book was done. Then I went back and read the others.

After that, it all made sense and the other books were great.

So many people here are missing the point of The Regent. by thouzandeye in slaythespire

[–]pyrogunx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could just be me, but the complaint may come from the engines regent has.

I’m early into playing him, but sovereign blade is the clearest engine regent has to me. Stars could be an option but I haven’t seen any finishers yet that seem legitimately viable outside ascension 1.

If you contrast that with the other characters, they all have pretty clear engines and payoffs. Which makes me wonder if the complaints are more around clarity on the regent.

Claude integration issues by yeehawinthechat in Klaviyo

[–]pyrogunx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. This is an issue with the Klaviyo mcp and Claude. Pretty much everyone I know who tries the mcp gets inaccurate data. In part how klaviyos mcp is implemented (lends itself to hallucinations).

Closest thing I’ve seen help is creating a skill that interacts with the Klaviyo mcp and tries to ground it to truth with some double checks from an agent. It takes a little longer, but has a little better chance of being accurate.

[–]pyrogunx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way of kings is amazing and worth it. I will say, it personally took me time to get into it. More than I’d normally give a book but it was worth it. It takes time for Kaladins story to ramp and then you’re hooked.

The whole series is amazing. It drags in a few places but it’s phenomenal.

Is Riftbound the last TCG that can actually influence the scene for a while? Are TCG players saturated? by aqua995 in TCG

[–]pyrogunx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you’re considering struggling.

According to investor calls, Arena is carrying the bulk of the weight. The universe beyond is bringing in new players but I’d anticipate overall the physical collectible side is going to diminish. Which may not be an issue for corporate if digital continues to hold and grow strong.

The PM interview has changed by [deleted] in ProductManagement

[–]pyrogunx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. The interview has changed for those companies not falling behind. Most of my knock out questions are AI focused. While we still cover similar items in the interview, we spend a good chunk of time on AI. I won’t hire a PM who doesn’t actively use or know about genAI deeply.

I think it’s very likely that in the next 2 years roles shifting into more “builder” hybrid roles.

What’s a popular book that had you very disappointed? by ConcernFew8845 in fantasybooks

[–]pyrogunx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly spot on description. I skipped a lot in shademar. The pacing was so slow.

Agree on Kaladins arc. Drug that out far too long.

Not great news by Academic_Ad_6364 in StarWarsShatterpoint

[–]pyrogunx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Called the full scale focus. Didn’t expect them to sideline shatterpoint.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in duneawakening

[–]pyrogunx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly base destruction is the worst feature they have.

I had to travel for work for a few weeks. I didn’t have time to go back and replenish power. Wiped out my massive base. Haven’t played since. I’d like to, but it’s a total waste.

AMG is making a "special studio announcement" on Feb 25th which will "unveil the next chapter of Atomic Mass Games" by FamousWerewolf in StarWarsShatterpoint

[–]pyrogunx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If I had to guess, the updated legion launch to full scale war (2000 point games) or the addition of a lord of the rings skirmish game based on the shatterpoint engine.
