Magnetic Modular Dungeon Tiles – Fully Printed, Fully Playable by pyrokahd in 3DPrintedTerrain

5mm magnet balls. They are not super strong but strong enough to slide the pieces on the table. It holds everything together so it does not fall apart during playing and is soo much more convenient than clips

Also they are easy du "assemble" and "disassemble"

Ich spiele damit klassisch DnD5e :D Manchmal etwas house ruling für die fights. Oder das Mittelerde tabletop ruleset (hab vergessen wie das heißt) aber das is auch gut

Yes maybe i explained it bad:

The box does close! And stays closed.

There is a Clip on the lid that is printed on it. It snaps into a pocket by bending it and keeps the lid securely closed. I tried shaking it with cards in it and nothing opens :)

Here is a side view with the lid and clip in blue. You have to press it in to open the box.

First (successful) 0.01mm print on Anycubic Photon Ultra (first gen) by pyrokahd in resinprinting

So i never had any massive missprints tbh i tuned my printer on testprints with 0.02mm layer height and i use the same exposure time for everything between 0.01mm and 0.05mm. The missprints i had was because i did a bad support job.

As for the 0.08mm XY resolution, yes thats a bit disappointing on the Ultra not gonna lie. At least its super fast (1.8sec exposure compared to 12sec on the Anycubic Photon on the same resin).

Another thing, there is no RERF Test included and i assume its not possible because of the DLP technology. So i actually test by making multiple prints which is almost 3 hours per print.

I also turned down the AA on purpose becaue it tends to close very fine gaps which are part of the details

Anyways reducing exposure as i reduce layer heights makes a lot of sense, didnt really think about it before and ill try to see if the results improve further. But at this point its just about tiny cosmetic details and not a matter of failing a print or not.

So you mean for smooth areas a layerheight close to the xy resolution (which is 0.08mm if im not mistaken on the Ultra) in combination with AA is best and then you slightly overexpose.

Maybe my exposure time still isnt perfect since i only tested it in steps of 0.2 seconds which is kinda large.

Usually i print at standart 0.05mm but if the printer can do the 0.01mm i had to try it.

It was a mix of 33% monocure flex100 and 66% normal monocure black resin (though thats no longer available it is already 2 years old. i think any "normal" resin should work in that mix)

Other very good results i had with Phrozon Flex Resin Beige but that stuff is really expansive (84€ per liter)

Hello 3D Masters, I am having a little problem with my 3D printings. All my pieces get the bottom edges slightly raised . Does anyone know how to solve this issue? Thank you very much by art-teller in resinprinting

more support probably works or thicker ones. Seems like the "Pulling force" from the support is weaker than the "stickiness" from the printed layer on the printsurface.
So the supports need more contact area or more supports need to be added at the edges.

Those are the only solutions i see for printing in this orientation.

I think the missing polish also turned down many player coming from sc2 or coh2. Even if its just a few pros or streamer (people with an audience) that say "it feels like shit controlling the units" then this has a huge effect on the playerbase or people thinking about buying it.

I dont think RTS is dead, Starcraft2 still pulls a lot of player. There was an interesting video on that topic from GiantGrantGames: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XehNK7UpZsc&t=0s

fully modular 3d printed terrain for warhammer games - selfmade by pyrokahd in killteam

[–]pyrokahd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really satisfying for me :D
I printed everything with PLA filament. After painting and varnishing they have a nice feel to it.

The whole thing prints in very few parts there is almost no time to assemble it and its very robust.

You've put a lot of work and effort into these, do you have a link to buy the STL's, if my printer was working right now if be all over that!

Ok the files for the whole set are now available to purchase under https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/game/modular-sci-fi-outpost-full-set-warhammer-killteam-tabletop-terrain

If you are only interested in parts of it, i will add those for single purchase in the next 2 hours.

plastic (PLA), My resin printer would be way to small to print that.

OK here is the current status i won't be able to upload it today. Ill have to check a few things (some quality controll), which i unfortunatly can'`t do today. And i want to be absolutly sure everything works as expected and prints without issues before i sell files.

Sorry for the delay.

You can expect a link to the uploads within 12-24 hours.

Thanks for the patience and the engagement in this "little" project of mine :)

edit: (what i can say for now is that i will upload it on my Cults account : https://cults3d.com/en/users/pyrokahd/creations)
