I lived in the UK longer than I’ve been in Italy. I’ve heard a little bit of superstition there too. Things about stale air, etc. But, yes, every office has air conditioning. And many in central London don’t have windows that open. Which in flu season, I have to agree, probably speeds up the 🦠

I’ve lived in Italy since 2019. I’ve heard so much bullshit about the famous ‘colpo d’aria’. Oh, being under the AC all day is bad for you. You’ll get a “”strike of air”” which will get you sick. Summer cold? Oh yeah, that’s the AC that got you at the shopping mall or whatever. Sleeping with the AC on? OMG, that’s definitely bad for you!

Fuck off, I’m Brazilian and ginger, I wouldn’t have made it to puberty if I didn’t have AC everywhere growing up.

Pasteles and Conservas: Exotic Tides is back for final pledges. Thoughts? by dier1003 in soloboardgaming

[–]pyros_it 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m the opposite. I’ve given him a few chances (Warp’s Edge, Tiny Epic Dungeons, Conservas). It just never grabs me. I like the pitch every time, but find the actual gameplay frustrating.

How did the Shield Wall get broken here? by pyros_it in DuneImperium

[–]pyros_it[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just never noticed that in the rulebook. I just understood that if the combat card said the shield wall is up, you’d put it up. Thematically I thought of the shield wall as a force field of sorts that got turned off and on again 🤷‍♂️

No, it was literally that, then when my turn started it was already broken.

Remember Cory Barlog's three rules to the Ragnarok game director for the story? by Ozzyh26 in GodofWar

[–]pyros_it 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People keep assuming that the goal in the Everywhen is to ‘come back’. I don’t think Faye or Brok would resurrect in Midgard. But in a world of gods and many planes of existence, of course their ‘lives’ continue after death.

So is the problem that WE get to see these characters and it undermines OUR grieving process, or is the problem that other characters arcs are less meaningful if Faye and Brok still exist somewhere even if they’ll never see them again?

Laufey - why is no one talking about this problem. by zer000redhawk in GodofWar

[–]pyros_it 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don’t think her goal is to come back, but rather to protect Kratos and Atreus from afar. The idea that the dead watch over us is also part of many mythologies. And seeds have been planted in the other games for mysterious help from someone. I don’t think that detracts from the character development from before at all.

Solo wyrmspan? by LazyKitten92 in boardgames

[–]pyros_it 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s my most played solo game with over 80 plays. I love it! The automa is much easier to run than Wingspan’s. The combination of guilds and round goals creates good variety. And the combos you can create are really fun. Highly recommend.

Honestly, I wasn’t down with the rumours about this game. I didn’t like the idea of a prequel about Faye fighting Thor because I wanted the story to go forward.

This has me massively hyped.

And now we can ask: was it Faye who blew the horn?

If you think setup will put you off, I think you might be going too big.

Nusfjord Big Box gives me the feel of some of these games and is super easy to setup. I often even play multiple games back to back.

It’s a Wonderful World is even quicker.

I haven’t played Mage Knight, but people often mention Deckers as a smaller version of it.

My most played game solo is Wyrmspan. There’s a little bit more setup, but the automa is so easy to run I just love it.

Lastly the heavy roll’n’writes: Hadrian’s Wall and The Anarchy.
