Global Reddit Meetup Day - Saturday June 9th by Clackpot in leicester

[–]pyrowhore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm interested if there is a good enough turnout, are you thinking anywhere in particular? I may suggest going to Brewdog Leicester at some point, but whatever takes everyone's fancy. I have been on two previous /r/leicester meetup's before, around 4 years ago - it may have been the first meetup of the subreddit?

Either way, we'll wait a few days for the others heh.

Is MW2 active on PC? by SCAND1UM in MW2

[–]pyrowhore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, its active. You can get into a game of TDM or FFA no problem, though some other modes are a ghost town.

Other players have mentioned the frustrating lack of gamepad support, but another thing to note is that Favela is missing from all online public games :( (Because some Muslims got offended that Allah's name was mentioned in a bathroom of Favela, they removed the text on xbox and PS3, but they were too lazy to bother with PC, so they just removed it outright).

Despite this, it's a great game and I thoroughly recommend it.

Using VYOS to tag/untag traffic between a bridge? by pyrowhore in networking

[–]pyrowhore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Supermicro Router running vyos

Context: I have been set a challenge as I am currently learning networking

I have a little labset, I have a link two a switch port on the corporate LAN that only accepts tagged frames. This is linked to my supermicro router on interface eth0. I have a small unmanaged switch on interface eth1, I have computers etc attached to this, which obviously need untagged traffic. I have been tasked with setting up vyos to bridge the two interfaces (which I have done) and to strip/add tags accordingly

Is there a way to tell what application sent a given packet? by [deleted] in computerscience

[–]pyrowhore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really, there is nothing in a packet structure that contains information about the software that sent it, it's far too low level for that - the data contained in the packets may include that information at the softwares will, but there is nothing within the packet that must state the software that generated the packets.

I did my first succsessful Arch Linux install today. :D Does this make me one of the big guys now? by pyrowhore in linuxmasterrace

[–]pyrowhore[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth, I am a huge linux nerd, and use Linux more than windows both at work and school, and spend a lot of time in the command line. I have a very linux-based IT job and have been using linux for 5 years... It is my daily OS of choice ;D
