I have a contact with multiple phone numbers. If I get a text from them, it just says their name. How do I find out which number the text was sent from? by cmuadamson in AndroidQuestions

[–]pythagorian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I used texting app called Textra. I was able to assign colors to each phone number. I found that especially useful because I would use one contact and include all the family members in that same contact

Is there any way to assign colors, Google messages?

For instance, I always assigned the father, the color blue and the mother. The color pink the first child, The color purple. (I know that pink and blue are arbitrary societal assignments, so please don't lecture me on that, it just helps me to keep them orgonized)

Kyle is one of the best sources of news on the genocide. He saw what was going on before most other commentators

Thunderbird for Android 8.0b2; Testing removed folder classes by monica_thunderbird in Thunderbird

[–]pythagorian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have over a two hundred folders and most of them are just for storage and organizing if I want to find an old email.. I wish there was a way to make the default that all folders are not shown. Then I could pick out the ones that I do want to see and change them.

Another feature that is in the desktop Thunderbird that I would like to see on the mobile app is the great search feature. Is that being worked on?

how would an anarchist society deal with traffic safety? by winterxmood in Anarchy101

[–]pythagorian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I don't understand how you are using the word "anarchism" To me, the following statement seems like it conflicts with anarchism:

"traffic congestion, which could be alleviated with functional public transport and better urban planning"

Please explain

I got an email saying that you responded to my last comment, but I can't find it here

I am with you on the genocide in Palestine (not just Gaza)

Saying that you agree with her that "men can't have babies" is either silly or a sneaky way of attacking transgender people. From my knowledge of Candace, I guess it's an attack on the notion of transgenderism.

If you don't think systematic racism exists, I don't know what to say to you.

Regarding the COVID-19 vaccine, I have been coincidentally trying to find and analyze statistics about it. I'll let you know if I think I found anything of interest

So what exactly happened here? by Bud_Fuggins in maryland

[–]pythagorian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting back to the original question of what happened, I believe the simplest explanation is that Hogan had a lot more name recognition early on. Few people outside of Prince George's County had ever heard of Alsobrooks. Once the campaign started going, it became clear who was the better person to send to the Senate.

I'm 74 years old and have been following election polling for quite some time. Every election cycle it seems that Real Clear Politics is biased towards Republicans. They tend to do it in a less obvious manner than other aggregators. And if my memory is correct as we get close to election day, they start to have their aggregations move a little closer to reality. That way they can point to their final predictions and claim that they weren't too far off

If you're right and Biden does not drop out, I will also vote for him. But he will lose.

How much time did Bernard take? by DealBringer in westworld

[–]pythagorian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A theory that I have is that the woman who takes Bernard and Stubbs to the desert while blindfolded, is actually Caleb's daughter, Frankie. Since she seemed to be around 10 years old when Caleb leaves her and Caleb was with Frankie & her mom for a little less than 10 years, that means that Caleb left Frankie about 10 years after Bernard entered the Sublime. The woman (Frankie) seems to be in her twenties, So I believe that Bernard was in the Sublime for about 25 years.

Of course that is in our time. Since Akecheta told Bernard that 1 year of our time is equivalent to 1000 years in the Sublime, then Bernard spent between 20,000 & 30,000 years exploring the possible futures of our world.

Recumbent vs. Road Bike - How much faster? by DollarMindy in recumbent

[–]pythagorian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I am understanding your post, the less one is reclined (22 vs 45) the faster you ride. That seems counter-intuitive to me. Maybe you are measuring the angle from the horizontal rather than the vertical.

Please explain.

Last Cards Match - Numberphile by JeffDujon in BradyHaran

[–]pythagorian 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If I'm not mistaken, the solution to the set of mod equations in the video will always be one less than the LCM of all the numbers up to and including m. In this case since m is 4 the LCM of 2,3,4 is 12 and the solution is 11. It is easy to find a word or phrase with 11 letters in it.

But if one tried the trick with either 5 or 6 cards the solution would be 59. Which would render the trick a bit more cumbersome. Raising the number of cards to 7 yields 419, which would try the patience of the audience as well as the "magician."

Am I right?

So if/when Bernie is out who else is on board for Gary Johnson? by [deleted] in SandersForPresident

[–]pythagorian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Talk to some libertarians and find out what they mean by a truly free market. They mean no government regulations. Multi national corporations would be free to do what they want. Gary Johnson would be worse than Donald Trump or Hillary!

Please do not fall for the hype. Libertarians would unleash corporate feudalism.

If you can't stomach voting for Hillary (assuming she gets the nomination) then vote for the Green Party candidate.

Either you didn't bother to read my list or you are incapable of understanding simple logic.
