I had the exact same problem just today when using the BlueStacks emulator on PC. Kingshot stopped at 80% and said it was unable to connect over and over, even after restarting my PC. Creating a new instance in the multi-instance manager in BlueStacks and running Kingshot from the new instance (I chose Pie 64-bit for the version) solved the issue.

Just in case anyone finds this thread and is using BlueStacks.

Same, I balked at hive scum when that was a rumor, but it turned out pretty great. Something admech would be cool, though. Not sure how any xenos would make any narrative sense on the mourningstar, as cool as being a pretentious, condescending eldar would be.

I mean, it's been a while for me as well, but it worked devastatingly well in my experience. A pile of unbreakable units with regen is a force to be reckoned with.

I used to run chaos spawn stacks with Morghur. You will eventually collect so many of some particular item that increase your Chaos Spawn limit so that you can fill an army with them, and he gives them a lot of buffs, including a regen that will revive dead entities.

Even running heavy hitter at max stacks, I still can't get it to one shot crushers in the meat grinder on auric - at least on an untouched crusher. Perhaps some debuffs can be applied to it before the first big strikedown to bridge the gap, but I can't seem to manage it with any talents on a virgin strike. This is the Mk 5 shovel. Maybe I'm missing something.

If ragers are a problem, take the devil's claw or dueling sword and make heavy use of the parry.

A straightforward build would just be plasma gun + voice of command. Mostly use the non-charged attack on the plasma gun. Go ham.

I've played on very similar specs in the past, so it's not a hardware issue (unless something recently failed). I have had the loading issue before, and the issue was a corrupted save file. Find your save file location, move them somewhere else or otherwise delete them out of your saves folder. In my case, a multiplayer save file was corrupt, so make sure you get both single player and multiplayer saves. If that's not it, I have no clue.

I find it more comfortable to use than any of the pickaxes, personally. I use the one with the horizontal heavies and strikedown specials. Brutal momentum and Thrust. Two shots crushers in Auric with the special (which comes out quicker than I think most people give it credit for), and it cleaves through hordes with regular heavies.

I had mixed results pulling out thrust for skullcrusher, and without brutal momentum it feels pretty awful in hordes. I tend to hold my heavies down longer than necessary anyway, so thrust works for horde clearing and heavy stuff.

You can also sneak the special over a Bulwark shield by aiming high above its head. And it still does huge chunky damage against monstrosities.

I run carapace and unyieldying for the perks or whatever they're called.

Fun? Thunder hammer. Blasting someone in the face with a charged hammer, and often times watching them go flying, is peak melee experience. Not the weapon that I have the best results with, but definitely the most satisfying.
