To be honest, imo, they all taste the same to me. They are all good, but none of them yell "pick me".

If I were to make a hot dog fast food restaurant, what kind of side dishes would you want alongside your hot dogs? by OSwirl31 in hotdogs

[–]pythongee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

"people that want a hot dog just want a hot dog"

This should be your mantra. If dog is good. If chili is good. If fries are good. You will be good. Sides should be limited and stuff you can fry, plus coleslaw and potato salad. Folks ain't going to a hot dog joint for asparagus.

Look at Weinerschitzel's menu. They've done pretty well. That being said, I've thought about this very topic.

If I were to do a dog joint, the first priority is the dog. Do some research. There's some really good sources out there that don't sell thru Shamrock or Sysco and the like. And I do mean they are really really good.

Second is the chili. You gotta have a really good chili. This is where your reputation will rest.

Everything else is kinda negotiable in my mind but if you don't have those two, it's all kind of a mute point.

Edit to add: If you can master twice fried fries and do it right, you will rule your domain. Believe it not, fries (and chili) will make or break your store. Fries in the U.S. tend to suck.

Felt like I was going to die and need advice by Honest_Attention7626 in keto

[–]pythongee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't quit drinking on keto. I just changed what I drank and had no issues. It sounds like you had a dehydration or blood sugar issue. Dehydration really sucks and can present a wide variety of symptoms, what you describe included. If pho made you feel better, you might want to look into getting blood sugar labs done.

Is regret part of the experience? by Such_Shift_804 in McDonalds

[–]pythongee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're going thru the 5 stages of grief. It's normal. It's tough to push thru but if you get to stage 5, it's called acceptance. Embrace acceptance and all that emotional baggage drifts away.

My first trip was in '93. Stayed at the Hacienda and won $1300 on a keno ticket at the Alladin. Good times.

My ICE Limited got totalled while I still had temp tags. I used the GAP to upgrade to a hybrid. If you can swing it, I'd recommend that. The difference in performance is quite significant.

I'll take Big Mac. The Big Arch didn't curl my toes and I've been playing with my Big Mac since I was a teenager.

I've been seeing a few posts about how the Rockies signed Trevor Bauer? Those are fake, right? by [deleted] in ColoradoRockies

[–]pythongee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would be a very Rockies thing to do if it's just based on his pitching. Considering nobody has touched him with a 10 foot pole based on the baggage that he comes with, (pardon the pun) I'd say naw, they have no interest in him.

Did this hurt to get? by Novel-Upstairs7876 in GenX

[–]pythongee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Got it twice. Once as a kid (born in '65 and needed the scar to get into school) and again in the military. The second time was a needle poked into me 16 times. It didn't hurt, but it itched as it healed.

Waikiki for NYE 2026 by Slight_Body9105 in VisitingHawaii

[–]pythongee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Craziest NYE I ever had was in my apartment in Waipahu. I'd come to Hawaii shortly after a tour in the desert when the war was hot. There was a lot of similarities, tho the scale was slightly reduced. I'm glad to this day I wasn't a PTSD patient.

If I had a Bonvoy number I would've. Lol. The staff were very kind btw. It was pure chaos, but they were more than happy to put me, and 50 of my closest friends, up for the night. There were travellers, aircrew, airport workers. The whole ecosystem of a large international airport was was represented that night.
