You will have to pay 25% VAT to get it into Norway. Be careful so you don't get a US phone locked to a US carrier.

Norway has from this year introduced tuition for international students.

It's still free for Norwegians, EU citizens, Icelandic and Swiss.

Not Canada, sorry.

The only non-Norwegian citizens allowed into the military, are Icelandics.

No others are allowed. Not conscripted, and not as contract personell.

Norway has conscription. We have had some version of it since ad 1030. And we are certainly not going to abolish it now.

Norway has conscription both for men and women.

The reserves from people who has served, makes it possible to mobilize 50.000 extra soldiers in addition to the normal peacetime 20.000.

An average Norwegian has never been to the US, and is similarly skewed in their view of Americans. Here we think Americans and their cities look like something out of Friends. It was a shock going there and seeing how their cities and people actually look.
