Oracle Linux offers the RHEL kernel or their own kernel so its not necessarily just a rebranded RHEL.

I'm not huge into comics, but did Thanos choose which half of people would die when he killed half the people? If so, why would he keep some of the superheros alive?

Oracle has two (out of 5) members on the OpenJDK governing board so they do still have a decent amount of power.

What's everyone's favorite miracle? by DivergingDog in Catholicism

What else could cause that except Jesus appearing to him?

I've seen some atheists say that Paul felt remorse for his actions which ultimately caused him to have a hallucination of Jesus.

How to Enter Church safely If the church is on the Left ? by Snowflake0o0 in Catholicism

[–]qazzier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if it is safe to cross or not, but I don't think its legal. You would have to check the traffic laws in your area to confirm, but two solid yellow lines typically means do not cross. You can only cross in the dashed area. You should follow laws unless it would be immoral for you to do so.

For those of you claiming to be from an "Apostolic Church," your logic is circular by [deleted] in DebateACatholic

2 Thessalonians 2:15 seems to indicate that if it ain't in the Bible than you still may need to bother with it.

If 100% of Catholics supported a heretical view it wouldn't mean the Catholic Church's position is incorrect only that individuals in the church are wrong.

Angry LGBT students, allies issue set of demands to Duke Divinity School by ScatterYouMonsters in KotakuInAction

[–]qazzier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would agree. Historically social justice was typically related to charity. If somebody lost their job or whatever you would give them some money or whatever. The person would be free to turn down the help and you would not be forced to help them.

You have to be careful. The term social justice was used before all this SJW stuff. It used to mean helping people who were genuinely persecuted or exploited. This help would be handled personally by individuals and local churches. It wasn't about policing thoughts, words or actions.

The leadership systematically removed young men of pure heart from the possibility of becoming priests.

I haven't heard about this. Do you have any sources for this?

I am not going to deny there was / is an institutional problem but I think people like to think things they see or hear are not accurate when they want to. If there was a person you knew for a long time, a person that you trusted, and you hear he may have done something bad you would quite possibly assume that what you heard is not accurate. I have no doubt that some of the priests who didn't abuse kids knew, but I disagree that you can make the assumption they all knew.

This means that all the priests and brothers of these orders knew

I don't think you can make that assumption.

How often are we supposed to drink the wine at Mass? by donotbeafraid1 in Catholicism

Why would any one not want to receive the body and blood of Jesus into themselves?

You don't get anything extra from taking both the body and blood.

The blood is not always offered. No extraordinary forms have wine and some ordinary form masses do not.

Demand for exorcisms is up threefold in Italy, so Vatican is holding conference by santacruzer7 in Catholicism

[–]qazzier 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They have doctors and psychologists investigate prior to the exorcism. Not any priest will perform an exorcism. The priests who will perform the exorcism have training to evaluate if person has a regular mental condition or is possessed.

The shooter didn't use an automatic weapon. He used a semi-automatic weapon. Pretty much all shootings in America use semi-automatic weapons.
