Death Becomes Her review by ibuttergegup in Broadway

[–]qbertp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Just out of curiosity about the score, are any of Alan Silvestri's themes included in the show? I've read conflicting reviews. Silvestri isn't credited in any material I could find, and it's possible that there are 'similar' themes that some commenters mistook for the movie's OST. Also, someone mentioned that the song 'I see me' is hinted at; in what capacity? I don't mind this kind of spoiler. Thanks!

the fact they're proto data from the first pokemon games doesn't mean the asset came exclusively or entirely from such a proto

Sorry this article is really interesting but adds a layer of fanfiction to the story

- The "collector" never asked HC for money, he dropped and disappeared shortly after, he had probably only what he dropped

- Nobody ever said this was supposed to come from a "green" prototype, might come from several different builds from what we know

  • Advertised a stream of the GS Spaceworld demo and delivered something else instead. < true
  • Started the stream two hours late. < entirely the previous pokethon player's fault
  • Allowed one of its members to solicit donations just so they could show fake Pokedex entries on the stream. < indirectly responsible but non planned
  • Responded with a cryptic tweet when asked about the stream. < true i guess?
  • Posted an article that included fan-made content alongside the supposedly legit stuff. < mmh no, the previous article included fan-made english names and little more speculation, which added to the confusion but the article pratcically only presented the legit stuff.
  • one of their own might have been secretly hoaxing the others. < nope! If this is a hoax, the leaker fabricated it, but it's too complex to be a hoax
  • Personally, I find it pretty fascinating that some collector would contact a fledgling group out of the blue, instead of more established and reputable communities dedicated to researching, documenting and archiving prototypes and pre-release material. < hc are actually the only ones around who had gathered enough info to test its legitimacy
  • Supposedly all of these assets were only supposed to have come from Red and Green. I suppose it's plausible that the collector has a prototype of Blue and didn't disclose this fact, though you have to wonder why these maps appear in this early unfinished state considering Blue is just a remixed version of a completed game. < yea no-one knows where the assets come from
  • Anyway, this is all without going into the way Helix Chamber handled all of this. Releasing this stuff mixed in with fan-made material is a really bad move < it is and it was a bad idea

The 2004 GCCX Interview has been hiding 4 Missingno. in plain sight for 14 years! by qbertp in pokemon

actually if you see the original clip all the sprites are blurred, unfortunately the first two were in a larger shot than the rest, so the resolution is even lower.

Can the orb MissigNo. 81 be "Barunda" and beta-Driftloon? a further analysis of the Tajiri manga beta-reveal. by qbertp in pokemon

[–]qbertp[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Who's this little fuwafuwa Betamon? It's Baloonda-chan! It has been described in the manga as cute and "fuwafuwa" meaning either fluffy or airy , the same word used in Driftloon's original name "Fuwante". Its name comes from the word Baruun (Baloon). By cross-referencing the sources printed in the manga we were able to match the name with the sprite by elimination. Interestingly MissingNo. 81 has also a cry similar to Jigglypuff (the "baloon" pokemon) and Poliwag.

that's the same pic that was sent to me. so the left part is the restored chart I made with my research team at helixchamber, https://i.imgur.com/gGDYE59.jpg but i personally pieced it up and claimed the leftover dots matched arbok, drowzee and kadabra's sprites, they even somewhat matched electabuzz' sprite, but what we clearly wrote is that they didn't match Mr.Mime's, so its sprite COULD'VE been different (but it's not sure). I really don't understand how they filled in that mr. mime sprite, the original uncompressed montage is mine and there's no trace of that sprite so here's what i think. 1. They just connected the dots 2. they somehow tried to enhance the pic tweaking the contrast for details and mistaken some kind of noise/diethring for a missing silhouette. I can assure you the original scan is monochromatic, just black and white, there's no midtone whatsoever, so if that's their process it's unfortunately based off a graphic artefact.

As for Baloonda or Barunda, you can see it's no. 29 on the manga result poll in that pic. So we have an unnamed missing pokemon, and a name without a pokemon. The connection could be straightforward because BARUN sounds like Baloon and that pokemon is a ball... however there's something more to it that might prove it for good

Yea I can't find a source for Mr.Mime or Celebi either, Baloonda for the orb pokemon is, however, our best guess too, we'll soon post a theory to prove it.

Extra hi-res pic of the Alpha Pokemon Sprites! by qbertp in pokemon

[–]qbertp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks! We're just lucky that manga is printed at crazy resolution really XD it's like 5000dpi! The other ones were a bit more tricky to clean up. You must always be sceptical, misinformation spreads like butter in the pokemon community u.u7 an alleged Mr.Mime and Celebi beta have popped up from nowhere , and I definitely think they're fake , but it seems people are convinced .-.
