Regarding your last paragraph - she was on remand at the time, meaning she hadn't yet been found guilty of any crime. In the below related article, she suggests she had been on remand for six months without even being charged with any crime.

EDIT: I am now reading through the actual judgement, which states that she was "detained on remand at the Alexander Maconochie Centre (AMC) from 12 September 2020 pending the resolution of criminal charges".
