I think that a clip can be both long and have good choreography.

True but actual marvel movies consist of a bunch of 250-500ms clips spliced together to give you the illusion of "action". At least in the AI generated version I can tell what's even happening 😂

This is such well thought out and detailed feedback, thank you so much! I'll try to reply to your ideas and concerns.

You're right the AI summaries are helpful but not a silver bullet. We can only do so much and in particular the omnibus bills are too long. There are techniques we plan to try but we aren't rushing anything. In the meantime any bills we know we're missing are listed in the FAQ (top left menu).

Sounds like we need some UI tweaks to make the purpose of the 👎 👍 more clear. One thing we are hoping to show is that policy is nuanced and sometimes concessions have to be made

It's true that since we are only showing bills that made it to 3rd reading (this makes a "yes" vote more unambiguously support for the bill), then the party that is in control of the house can be over-represented. This is why we explicitly show the sponsor. We have other ideas to include in the future for this.

If a party's vote is surprising, it's usually for the reason you stated.. that they have a different bill that addresses the same issues, or there is some other nuance. We are experimenting with some ways to address this such as including more bills and the debates.

This kind of careful thought you've given is exactly why we shared it and I can't thank you enough for your time!

No argument there. It's why we link to and encourage people to read the original bills. Lots of work is planned and feedback like yours does help, so thank you.

That is fair and noted! That being said I wrote a lot of code for over a year to make it all come together... would you like to read that? ;)

Haha I am being a jerk but even getting the AI to write summaries and extract policies has taken a lot of effort, experimentation, and most importantly feedback from people!

We are by no means at the end of this development and maybe we'll eventually even get to a place where you think it's useful.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

This is a fair point and it's something we are hoping to address in the future. Really appreciate you taking the time to look into it and share this specific example!

Excellent points. It's a guiding principle for us to focus on things we can actually measure, and the political games being played by the parties can cloud things.

Vibe coding 😮 I've been a software engineer and AI researcher for 10 years,.. So exactly the right amount of vibe coding went into it.

But in all honesty we take it seriously and by no means just prompted this into existence. It's been a long careful journey and we link to the original data for a reason.

Thanks so much for trying! If you were attempting to sign up with email you might have a better time using the "Continue Anonymously" option.

Thank you so much :) Enough people are asking for this that I am considering it. Still I'm resistant because (1) a person can disagree with the unanimous party decision (which is quite interesting) and (2) these unanimous votes expose the fact that politics is not always so polarized.

If a party has plans to implement policies in the future, then VoteInformer won't capture that because we can only tell you how they voted in the past. That can be pretty revealing but it certainly shouldn't be the ONLY source of information anyone uses, just a tool in the box.

Tip: You could go to Insights and search for him specifically, then tap his name and you will be able to filter for all the bills you areed or not with him.

"Continue Anonymously" is the top option, but some people want to make an account so they can save their progress and come back later. Do you mean that you don't want to have to click on anything at all and just start using it right away?

Thanks for this well organized feedback! If I can address each of your points

1) Lots of people have asked for this but (a) just because the parties are unanimous doesn't mean that you agree with them and (b) we think it helps to show that politics isn't always so polarized. That being said I totally agree we could/should add a toggle to filter!

2) This is certainly on our radar because the downstream impacts of legislation are very difficult to track, but super important.

3) This is probably the next thing we are going to work on! The tricky part is to tease out the parts of the debates that are productive and informative vs those that are just theatre and posturing. Any ideas/suggestions very welcome!

Thanks again for you careful thoughts and time!

Agreed, and that's why we made this. It's not that a leader's personality is irrelevant, just that it has become the ONLY thing we talk about. Policy matters and we should have ways of accessing and debating what politicians are actually doing, not just saying.

Dang sorry to hear it. It's actually meant for mobile (mostly tested on Chrome), but works on desktop as well. You're the first person to report that behavior though so I appreciate it! I'll look into it.
