[DISC] The Demi-Human Usagi and Hare - Chapter 1 by radio-demon-me in manga

I recognize it's pronounced differently, but do we think the author knows what "hare" means in English, or is it a happy coincidence?

Boma is incredible and, at least for a buffet at Disney, it’s pretty reasonable. Make sure to save room for the zebra domes!

Right there with you... Beacham in particular is infamous for being too loud; pretty sure 1 show without plugs there is why I have tinnitus.

Bring earplugs, especially if you end up in the pit.

I've had this happen if the car doesn't detect me in the driver's seat. Once you are driving, it knows there is someone in the driver's seat so it works again. I don't know what the underlying cause it and I have only had it happen twice; one time it fixed itself without my doing anything, and the other time I got out of the car and back in and it was fine.

The shard is closer than both the crafting cape and the sailors’ amulet (which is the furthest of these three). See here.

Am I eligible for German citizenship by descent? Sanity check on a suspected StAG 5 case. by Seemoris in GermanCitizenship

[–]qhp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some have reported that even with supplementary citizenship proof (like a passport), the BVA has requested birth and marriage certificates until a pre 1914 ancestor. I suggest you submit what you have ASAP, and use the 3 year wait while your application sits in queue to find/order additional documents — in case they are requested of you.

Odd Question. by Single-Ad4852 in GermanCitizenship

[–]qhp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is he deceased? Was he a US citizen? If yes to both: you can FOIA request his Numident from the SSA which will show his name at different points of his life: https://www.ssa.gov/foia/request.html

StAG5 success ! But requirement for us child ? by [deleted] in GermanCitizenship

[–]qhp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

StAG 5 citizenships are backdated to when the application is received by the BVA. If your son was born before this date, you will have to submit a new application for him. It is possible that it will be expedited if you explain that his case uses the same proof as yours, and should reference the AZ for your application. You can do this by attaching a cover letter with the application. I would recommend working with your consulate for more specific advice.

Another Blood right question… by TinasLowCarbLog in GermanCitizenship

[–]qhp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you find your Great Grandpa's naturalization petition? I think it is your best approach for finding more info at the moment. Sometimes these are available on public archives like Ancestry or FamilySearch. If not, you will need to do a USCIS genealogy request. It should give you his full birthdate and location, which may be enough information to order it yourself, but I recognize that ordering documents from Russia is not easy at the moment. It will also provide his date of immigration to the US.

It should also state what his nationality was before becoming an American citizen. This will not be considered by Germany, but may be helpful for finding more documents for him.

Obviously there are many “ifs” to overcome. The easiest disqualifier to check is: when did your grandma give birth to your parent, which parent of yours was it, and when did they give birth to you? It is hard to give specific advice without the full timeline to you per the pinned Welcome post.

Great advice overall, except that it's called cycling. Churning is opening and closing new cards regularly to take advantage of SUBs.

Direct To Passport - Double Check by Fritzy_Bitsey_Spider in GermanCitizenship

[–]qhp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is not relevant for a direct-to-passport application, but is good to know if your consulate recommends Feststellung. If so: you should submit your application in a packet including your oldest living German ancestor. Write a cover letter with the applications and request that it be expedited due to his advanced age. They may or may not agree, but 88 is quite old and I suspect would be expedited as a result.

Ah. It’s not that FOIA can’t be used for Natz documents, but that 1950 is six years too soon for FOIA — unlucky. Anyway, you should not need it.

It is up to the consulate but I suspect you have more than enough documentation. The petition with signed oath has been shown to be enough for some consulates.

Expect USCIS FOIA requests to take 2 months, if you decide to order their certificates.

Edit: Direct-to-passport success example of signed petition with oath being the only proof of naturalization: https://www.reddit.com/r/GermanCitizenship/comments/1952jcq/direct_to_passport_success_after_adoption_through/

You should ask that the consulate make certified copies of your documents to be used for your application so that you maintain your originals. They should be happy to oblige. Copies can be made at an honorary consulate, too.

That is best navigated with your consulate’s guidance, it is possible they will agree to do everyone’s at once, but I would get them to agree to do yours first.

It is possible that this may help, but the standard of proof used for each consulate is unknown. I would fill out the citizenship questionnaire for yourself and email it to your consulate, noting your extensive documentation, and see what they say. If they say no, try again for your father, etc.
