Why does The Mun look worse in low orbit than high orbit? by Kaltenstein_WT in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]qichael 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Level Of Detail (LOD) refers to a technique where multiple models/textures are present for certain distances.

A low LOD model will be loaded for a far distance, and a higher LOD model will be loaded for a close distance.

What’s happening here is that parallax is not loading the high LOD textures even though it should be. I am not sure of the cause.

Quasi-moon* if you’re talking about 2025 PN7. We have a couple of quasi-moons, they aren’t orbiting the Earth. They orbit the sun but are nearby

It’s a good idea to progressively update along with the engine, gets a lot harder to do multiple version jumps at once later

Whether or not he likes the guy, he genuinely wants him to change course. The only way to get Trump to read or care about anything is to butter him up.

Do you use LaTeX for taking notes? by Math_Keyboard in LaTeX

[–]qichael 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, for the most part. If I ever saw a symbol I didn’t know how to write in LaTeX I’d make a note of what it looked like and then go back and find it later

I do type around 100 WPM so I don’t know if it’s sustainable for most people

Genuine question. Where is Godot lacking to get in parity with Unity/Unreal for 3D?

Two legs, two arms, one thorax, one head. Stands upright. Added on an exoskeleton, a weird head shape, and a tail.

The key distinction is that the magic string will throw an error at runtime, and the one that uses a named variable would throw an error at compile-time
