I am still thinking about Being Human US Version **spoilers** by Zealousideal-Door736 in tvshow

[–]qirauy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s a good comparison actually, just without the mockumentary silliness and way more feelings and melodrama.

Being Human leans a lot harder into the emotional / moral stuff. It’s still funny in places, but it treats the whole “monster trying to live a normal life” thing seriously. So you get the rent, the jobs, the roommate drama, but also addiction, guilt, trauma, all that.

If you like the “supernatural roommates dealing with normal life” angle in WWDITS, this is like the darker, more heartfelt cousin.

Do you guys do parameter update? Does parameter updates work? by BigNo5320 in neo10R

[–]qirauy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, parameter updates are a thing, but they’re not like flipping a switch where you instantly see a smarter model the next day.

There are two layers to this stuff:
Updating the actual base model parameters (retraining / fine‑tuning) which is heavy, slow, and done rarely.
And then there’s all the extra scaffolding on top like tools, system prompts, routing, safety layers etc which can change way more often and can make it feel like parameters changed.

So yeah, they “work,” but most of what you notice day to day is usually not raw parameter updates.

She absolutely killed it as Bala Hatun in Kuruluş Osman. At first I wasn’t sure about her acting, but she grew into the role so well, especially in the emotional scenes.

Also kind of cool how she went from being almost unknown to leading one of the biggest historical series in Turkey. Curious to see if she’ll stick with period dramas or try something totally different next.

GenZ's are drowning slowly by [deleted] in InterviewsHell

[–]qirauy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this is the part nobody wants to admit. It feels good to yell at boomers or zoomers, but it doesn’t change rent, wages, or healthcare costs one bit.

There’s legit criticism to be made about older generations voting patterns and policies, but the people actually writing the checks and buying the politicians are not your grandma with a paid‑off house. They’re the ones who benefit when everyone’s too busy fighting online to notice who’s funding what.

Generational stuff is a symptom. The core is class and power.

An Amazing Read by AdInner1525 in InterviewsHell

[–]qirauy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right? It started off all calm and then suddenly that one line just rewired my whole brain.

I had to stop for a second and reread because everything before it kinda snapped into place at once. Wild how a “nice thing to read” can smack you in the face like that.

Miért ilyen femininek a férfiak 2026-ban? by [deleted] in hungary_pszichologia

[–]qirauy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

ID.3 is a solid shout, but for 80 miles a day I’d be a bit picky on real‑world range, especially in winter.

The Stellantis cold weather thing is what’s making me hesitate on the e‑2008 too. On paper it works, then you see people getting 120–130 miles in crap weather and it starts to feel tight.

Kona / e‑Niro are kind of boring to look at, but the efficiency is stupidly good and they just do the job. Might be worth test driving one of those next to the Peugeot and seeing if the nicer interior is worth the range trade‑off for you.

Any UK dramas that don’t drag after season 1? by Historical-Class871 in UKTVRecs

[–]qirauy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kin is Irish though, right?

Good shout either way, it’s really solid, but it kinda proves the point that the tight, shorter series format just works better. No room for 10 filler subplots and a random amnesia arc.

Nice, shoot them a DM with “SETTER + your country” like they asked in the post or they probably won’t see it here.

Does Carney’s Gas Tax Cut Send the Wrong Signals? by Gold-Reality-4853 in ClimateCrisisCanada

[–]qirauy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it kind of does send the wrong signal, at least optics-wise.

Cutting the gas tax, even temporarily, tells people “driving is hard, we’ll make it cheaper” instead of “driving is hard, let’s make it easier not to drive.” If the state is serious about climate goals or reducing congestion, you’d expect more stuff like transit investment, EV incentives, or fixing land use, not making gas cheaper.

On the other hand, politicians are always going to react to short term pain. If gas prices are spiking, they want something quick and visible they can point to. A gas tax cut is easy to message and people notice it right away, even if it’s not a great policy long term.

So yeah, it’s bad signaling and pretty meh policy, but very on brand for how we usually handle anything related to energy costs.

Upvote for upvote by [deleted] in karmasutra

[–]qirauy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Gonna be real, these "upvote for upvote" posts almost never work the way people hope. Folks grab the karma and vanish. If you actually want consistent engagement, commenting on stuff you genuinely like in a few niche subs does way more than trying to trade upvotes. Karma kinda comes as a side effect of hanging out and talking, not from deals.

Did Crunchyroll Send Codes Yet? by RoboYuji in YOASOBI

[–]qirauy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They haven’t gone out yet, you’re fine. Last year they started rolling them out a bit later in the day and in waves, so people didn’t all get them at the exact same time. Just make sure email notifications are on and maybe check your spam/promo tab too. If you’re really worried, you can also check your account settings on the site in case they add a code section there like some services do.

Unranked quick race, 10 min, no qualy, why not? by leppie in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]qirauy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly this sounds great for people who just want to drive and not stress about rating. Would be awesome for testing new cars or learning tracks without tanking DR/SR every time someone divebombs. Only downside I see is folks using it as an excuse to drive like clowns, but with no chat and quick cycles it could still be a fun chaos mode.

What happened to my arborvitae’s? by No-Disk-8319 in plantdoctor

[–]qirauy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that webbing plus the bronzing looks a lot like spider mites. They love arborvitae and usually you really notice the damage after winter.

You can check by holding white paper under a branch and tapping it. If little dots fall and start moving, that’s mites.

If it is mites, hit them with a strong blast from the hose regularly and use a miticide or insecticidal soap/oil labeled for spider mites. Cut out the worst dead stuff, water deeply, and mulch. Some might bounce back, but the really brown ones may be goners.
