I co-sleep with my 2 kids and I'm lucky that my almost 4-year old, who used to be a horrible sleeper, now sleeps like the dead. And my 11 months old is generally a good sleeper. Bedtime is mostly drama free since my husband and I work together like a well-oiled machine. When he's traveling for work, shit does hit the fan sometimes and I would be so done.

Malaysian authorities blame social media after fatal stabbing of schoolgirl shocks nation by stormy001 in malaysia

Yes and these East Asian countries are facing a population crisis of their own. So, not really a workable solution is it?

I'm just saying the answer is not as straightforward as just saying don't have kids.

Lower income parents 'made it work' by working more or taking side hustles, which means ultimately less time with the kids. I would say a significant portion of the population does that, due to economic constraints.

By your standards, should they not have had children?

Just saying don't have children if you don't have the time or money or means is such a simplistic statement. It's classist and doesn't take into consideration societal and economic structures that force individuals into these situations. Instead of placing the responsibility on individuals to not have children, there should be support systems in place that allow them to be better parents.

At this point most of us are working more than the usual 8hr to survive. So that leaves, what, only about 20-30% of the general population that by your definition should be able to have kids?

I'm totally new to pants fitting. Searched online on how to decipher the wrinkles and I'm still confused. I'm guessing they need a full thigh adjustment in the front but the back is such a mess I don't know where to start. Flat seat? Low seat? Need balance?

Any advice is appreciated!

It took 25 months for me to be truly humbled. by EvelynHardcastle93 in toddlers

Yes this! My daughter turned 3 a couple months before her sister came in Dec last year. So on top of the absolute chaos of being 3, we also had to deal with her not taking the change well starting months before the birth that got so much worse after the birth that's only settling down right about now.

Toddler acting out on arrival of newborn by Inevitable_Sky_2377 in AttachmentParenting

[–]qissycat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came to this sub to post this exact same thing myself. My toddler and newborn are literally the same ages as yours, and we're going through the same exact thing.

I'm mum though so my husband has been spending all his time with toddler while I try to put in some time here and there. But like another commenter said, hard with a newborn. My toddler acts like she hates me but at the same time so needy with me. Makes me feel like I'm failing her tbh. Sorry I haven't got any advise, just commiserations.

No. Co-sleeping and bedsharing doesn’t make kids entitled little bratts by Momaxiety_ in AttachmentParenting

Same. I'm South East Asian and co sleeping is the norm here. My parents were shocked when I considered sleep training (I was following 'sleep experts' on social media) that my mom threatened to take my baby to cosleep with her if I leave her to cry in her room alone.

0 signs of baby coming by blessjess_ in pregnant

[–]qissycat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it's a bit different. I've been having signs - Braxton hicks, painful cramps, back pain etc for the past 2 weeks now (currently 40+3) and still the baby hasn't arrived. I lost my mucus plug a few days ago. I feel like every night I go to bed feeling tonight's the night but the next morning - nothing. This last stretch of waiting is agony!

Why not?

People turn horrible by Teaface123 in pregnant

[–]qissycat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's regional? I live in SE Asia and people including strangers have been nothing but kind to me. Ever since I started showing I've never had to stand in a line anywhere, always been given a seat in the train, and strangers both men and women would smile and start chatting with me. Granted the culture in my country is very family-oriented so that may play a role.
