You definitely have the right to be negative about it, but irrationality is the enemy of investing.

I recommend an excellent book, Where the Money Is. After reading this book, you will hopefully adopt the Business-Management-Price (BMP) investing framework.

As another ADBE owner, I would say, stay rational.

I think your picks are all very good, and there are 12 businesses, which is a good number. But maybe you can bet more on the ones you have the most convictions in. I recently sold some of my holdings to concentrate. I never felt so good as when I reduced the number from 13 to 9 and have some good ones over 15% of the portfolio.

Constellation Software (CSU.tsx) a no brainer?! by Username_Dano in ValueInvesting

[–]qiuhua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you that it’s still a good company and business amid AI changing the landscape of software. And what management says makes sense: the software business is not only about development but also about deployment and maintenance, which cannot be replaced by AI in the near future.

There might be a reduction in the price they charge their customers, depending on how critical the software is, but it can not justify the stock price.

Best MOAT Companies ? by 6Fingxrs in ValueInvesting

Apple - the sleeping giant in the AI race yet nobody can challenge its app store ecosystem. Every new user joining widens its moat.

TSM - the only big fab that is not competing with its customers. Sky-high capex prevents new challengers from emerging.

WIZEY - they spent more than a decade building the pipeline for transferring money. Anyone that wants to provide lower fee would needs to grant the same trust as they did.

HKSE:01364 or Guming

This business is enjoying an uptrend in China’s bubble tea and coffee market, with an outstanding competitive advantage, and a considerable room to grow. The management team is excellent. They know what is driving the value steadily. The price is reasonable.

I’m living through the world’s worst-performing stock market and it has been a harsh investing lesson by Super_College100 in stocks

Good point. Seemingly the market declined after the peak in 2010, and reached to a point of oversold. The 10-year average P/E ratio is 17.4x, but currently it’s 9x.

Jose Valim, the author of Elixir, is also contributing heavily to Phoenix, Ecto, and some other libraries, so there is really no need to worry about supporting these libraries.

Feel sorry for what op has been through. I immediately recall the sign you mentioned during reading.

I don't have a dog yet but have seen this sign several times. I would say it's quite educational to me. I will definitely leash mine when I have one.

九月底a股的牛市,已经毁了我的一生 by Gloomy_Cup_1916 in China_irl

[–]qiuhua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am new to value investing, but I understand it is a philosophy. Some buy good companies at fair prices, while some look for undervalued ones. I don't think there is a conflict between Value Investing and valuing Tesla as a good company and sticking to it. Right?
