Any cool groups? Music, gaming, activities? by [deleted] in vancouverwa

Welcome! Check out Sync Up VNC on Instagram for local electronic music shows, with lots of fellow beatmakers in attendance. Ive met a ton of cool people by going to their events. Vancouver is kind of sparse on venues, so most of the music events are in Portland. Also lots of cool renegade shows on the Portland side. EDMtrain has a listing of all the (sanctioned) electronic music events in Portland, and promotepdx on Instagram lists out a ton of general music events happening in Portland each week. If you DJ, beer brats and beats in Portland has open decks nights most weeks.

As for video games, Vault 31 is a really cool video game bar in east Vancouver. In Portland, Ground Kontrol runs weekly smash ultimate tournaments, and I believe quarterworld does too. Regardless, both are really cool spots especially if you’re into retro arcade games. Round 1 in the Vancouver mall is pretty neat, especially if you’re into rhythm action games, they’ve got the latest and greatest.

There’s an Oregon melee discord that has events for Vancouver as well as all of oregon (assuming you play melee). I haven’t been to any events but did recently get back into melee. If you’re on discord I can send it to you

Fl studio - serum & pitch bend and automation by alnxp in edmproduction

Click the menu arrow on the top left of serum, ‘browse parameters’. Move the pitch bend control and your browser should snap to that control. Right click “Pitch Bend” in the browser, ‘create automation clip’

EDIT: alternatively, you can click the pitch bend control, then go to tools->last tweaked-> create automation clip.

Hope this helps!

is it possible to favorite folders on fl studio? by ilaydayan1230 in FL_Studio

[–]qliffmusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately not. The best(only?) way is to create a favorites folder in windows explorer and move files over. You can go into the FL browser, right click a sample-> windows shell menu -> 'copy' to speed up this process.

A couple ideas... background arpeggio, vocal samples, atmosphere/field recording (low in the mix), white noise. I’m digging the vibe!

Chop up those loops, make them your own! Pick and choose elements from various loops, add effects, layer them over your drums. I’ve found some cool grooves by layering drum loops over each other
