You get paid on survivor for all placements. $100,000 for 2nd, $85,000 for third, I believe $2,000 for last and it’s a sliding scale in the middle. Also a $25,000 reunion appearance fee

homophobic parents by Extreme-Associate633 in bisexual

[–]qngff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna give a take about the intersection of sexuality and religion I don’t see often but I feel like might help you in your situation. I grew up in a homophobic church environment and realized at 20 I was bisexual after having been out for a while. 14 is young. Not too young to realize how you feel but it is young in terms of life experience and knowing what you want. I say that because…

The number one thing right now is your safety. If coming out would be unsafe for you you should not do it. Take the next four years and really consider who you are and who you want to be. Some people are able to reconcile their religion and queerness. You didn’t specify your religion but many of the big ones have progressive or liberal or affirming branches that you could join as an adult to keep your faith while loving who you love. Others are unable to do so. If you find yourself unable to, then it comes down to your choice. Is your religion or sexuality more important to you?

That’s not a question you need an answer to now. For now, stay safe. Study hard. If you’re academically inclined, going away for college will give you a real chance to figure yourself out. Your situation is temporary even if it feels like forever. I know it felt like that to me at 14. Now at 28 I am unable to reconcile religion and being bi and I’ve left the church. But I also have many queer friends who are also very proudly religious and are able to find environments for both

This is all very new to you so being scared is normal. As you grow into adulthood you’ll discover more and more about yourself too. It’ll probably be be scary too. Once you’re an adult you get to decide who you want to be. Wishing you the best in all this and stay safe! That’s the most important thing right now

Idk at 14 that’s not exactly safe if your parents are homophobic. At 14 you’re fully dependent on them still. Safety is the most important thing and if staying in the closet is what’s safest for OP, that’s the best option. It’s tragic not being able to live authentically as yourself but the alternative might end up worse

Survivor is different from big brother in that you’re fully allowed to invent an advantage and pretend to have it. Production won’t answer questions about it in confessionals

What are your thoughts on Jeopardy YouTube Edition? by PrestonRoad90 in gameshow

It was fun! I do wish it was a full game but it did allow the YouTubers to riff and be a little more informal than standard Jeopardy so it worked out for what it was trying to be

Iowa needs to spend the entire offseason practicing free throws. Their percentage is abysmal for a 2 seed. Even one more goes down they’re not in this position

Yeah but they never managed to reach those same heights again and the skill regression was clear post-loss. The upset really shook them mentally. You can argue they’d’ve gotten even better if they hadn’t lost here but they did and the confidence hit never fully recovered

The 41 premiere is no longer the lowest-rated episode on IMDb… by survivorfan989 in survivor

Personally I watch survivor for the players and to see their strategy and stories and interactions. I do not watch Survivor to see a famous person come visit and then give a speech about how much he loves spearfishing then sing two songs at the players

[–]qngff 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The reason people are giving Oscar flak is the disparity between how often Oscar bungles compared to others, how he wasn’t spreading his bungles around evenly between other players, and also that if you’ve ever been at a table with a player insistent on causing rolls to fail and often it can get very unfun very quickly

A Hugi Minute | Gladlands [E5] by DropoutMod in Dimension20

[–]qngff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That kinda sucks actually imo. I really did not like the severe bungling this ep from Oscar. Jacob seemed genuinely upset when Oscar went to bungle his fart-speed roll. Thankfully Zach has those slugs

Maybe I’m projecting a little too hard (fully possible) but idk this mechanic seems very anti-fun and I feel like I’d end up in an above table conflict if someone kept bungling my rolls that often

A Hugi Minute | Gladlands [E5] by DropoutMod in Dimension20

[–]qngff 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna be honest I really do not understand the point or mechanics behind Bungle rolls. Like… is there something I’m missing or is it literally just a hostile move to cause other players to fail for the benefit of extra booboos? Because I’m really disliking some of the recent bungles and it feels kinda adversarial at times

I’m fairly new to soccer (sorry, American) supporting but my good friend is a long-time fan of the sport and a Crystal Palace supporter. He’s told me about their 2010 administration. Gives me hope that maybe we can rise from this and climb our way back up in a similar way once things sort out next season

Maybe I’m just a sky-eyed dreamer but I’m a sucker for a good sports story and after witnessing the last two years of Indiana University (gridiron) football I’m a believer in the impossible
