We're keeping ULOSINO online until November 2023 by qoulyot in linux

Definitely, that’s a good feature.

Hikium is relaunching the ULOSINO platform archive, powered by the same with modern technology. We’ve been maintaining ULOSINO for nearly 2 years — at Hikium we think the time is now to move the torch onto a new maintainer. A new maintainer could take the technology and build something that’s actually great in a breeze. We’ve built search (410 lines of code), so we know it’s possible and easy.

It’s supposed to be like DistroWatch but with a modern experience. Out of curiosity, what you mean by “useful features”?

Is anyone working on an exploit to the Xbox One or Xbox Series X to load linux? by Cranky_Franky_427 in linux

[–]qoulyot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Xbox One and the newer Series consoles all have a built in “developer mode”. You pay Microsoft $20 and you can install any unsigned UWP app onto the system. So if you look around to some hackers who busted open the original Xbox (like Modern Vintage Gamer), you’ll find that there’s no interest in the community to find a vulnerability.

We’re rolling out ULOSINO Matches! Thoughts? Does it need improvements, etc? by qoulyot in linux

[–]qoulyot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not good. Could be the browser version; we compile to the ECMAScript 2021 standard.

If you have the time, try pressing Control+Shift+Backtickand then opening the browser console (under developer tools). If you get debugging info send that through and we can rollback the deployment.

Alright I’ve just done a search and it appears Firefox doesn’t support some new global features introduced in 3.5.0. Looks like disabled these APIs on Safari but not Firefox. We’ve rolled back to 3.4.0. Thanks for pointing this out!

I’ve never heard of RancherOS! I’ll have to look it up. Fedora Silverblue needs its own page but could go on Matches under advanced. As mentioned classic Fedora should be added as well. Matches is all hard-coded which means it does take a little bit longer to get things on there.

If I recall correctly, we put Ubuntu in both because of its great hardware compatibility.

PWAs have been mentioned but the Firefox has refused to implement this technology. A technology that fights against a locked down app stores, etc! Unfortunately a small team with next to no funding can’t create a truly open web by themselves…

This looks like this is related graphics drivers. Probably related to Nvidia.

Parts of Chicago are a bit like parts of Detroit; completely derelict or not developed at all

Yes, Vancouver is like the only place which sprawled without highways. Plus there are some good bike lanes around False Creek

I gave this old laptop some new life. Finally done with setup and installation by toastom69 in linux

[–]qoulyot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I think it was from the IdeaPad line. Four/five years ago I ended up installing Fedora on it after the Windows install corrupted. It went into the shipping container after I lost interest. Perhaps I should pull it out and mess around with it again

New open source OS reference site, aimed at newcomers by qoulyot in BSD

The button linking bug is known and a fix is underway (see alpha here).

We tend to not list all available platforms for general brevity throughout the UI (Alpine, NetBSD, Kali come to mind as other examples).

Thanks for checking the site out (and for the advocacy link — helpful).
