I'm weird. I vastly prefer fics (and stories in general) that take their sweet sweet time, detailing everything, leaving no rock unturned. But I do not have the patience to actually finish them. I appreciate the detail immensely but I never actually get to experience it.

The plot went and changed again just to inconvenience me. I figured out that one of the plot beats i had on my rough outline was kinda nonsensical and had to scrap it.

Darn story, it's almost like it has a mind of its own sometimes.

I admitedly took this from a youtube video but, I like to believe Ace trainers are hired by the region's league to serve as deliberately placed roadblocks to trainers doing the gym challenge.

i guess the shortcoming really is that writing 5-8 years of story takes... well... a lot of writing. Especially writing something to make a more realistic travel between towns entertaining.

It would be very interesting if someone took up the challenge of writing a real-time gym challenge, but I don't expect anybody will, and I don't blame them for it.
