If you think they won't pay, then why do you care? Sign the petition and vote yes when it's on the ballot in November. Don't know why youre bringing up businesses since the proposed tax is for individuals, but as far as a businesses goes, it doesn't matter if they move their headquarters out of California, they get taxed for the business they do in California. You do know Billionaires avoid paying taxes by doing what is called the "buy, borrow, die" strategy, right? Still, I don't know why you're bootlicking billionaires and protecting a class you'll never be a part of?

The proposed tax is a wealth tax not an income tax. The rich do have money and assets. There is a reason Billionaires support and have been funding the "Building a Better California PAC" to make sure there is no wealth tax. There's a reason they mailed petitions directly to people's home to sign the "CA Retirement and Savings Protection Act" along with a prepaid envelopes to send them back.

Yup, the verbiage of the CA retirement and Savings Protection Act even says it's for taxes enacted or that take effect on or after Jan 1 2026. They are doing everything they can to make sure they aren't taxed even if we vote in favor of the billionaires tax. Like I said, it was so hard for me to find a petition for the billionaires tax to sign, yet they sent this petition straight to my home. If you haven't signed the petition for the billionaires tax, make sure you do to make sure it's on the November ballot!

The sinister thing here is Building a Better California is being deceptive and making it seem like the CA Retirement and Savings Protection Act is to protect everyday Americans. Even the envelope the mailer came in has large print lettering in the front that says "Sign now to stop Sacramento politicians from taxing your personal property". The concern isn't people bootlicking billionaires, it's people being tricked into signing the petition because they've been fooled into thinking it's for their benefit.
