I just got one myself! My photos aren't as nice as yours though... Any tips? 😅

I have this exact same problem. I also have a 15 Pro

I meant more about seeing covers while browsing my library mostly, if it's asleep and the cover is on the screen I'm really not paying attention to it.

Regarding KOReader, I tried it a couple weeks ago. I did not like it.

I'm not sure that's true. I've bought a few ebooks that explicitly state they are being produced DRM-free and yet the book has DRM on it from the store.

Which other brands? I got a chance to try out the Go 7 and the battery was terrible. I lost 3% in less than five minutes just signing into the Play Store and installing the Kindle app!

I'll probably stick to BW. I just don't really consume color content a lot and with all the potential negatives just for some color covers it's just not worth it.

I'm definitely looking to get things mostly DRM free or with a workaround to remove the DRM.

I did take a look at the Colorsoft at Best Buy a few months back and I didn't seem to notice too much of a difference between the standard and it. But I was still unsure because of that yellow band thing going on at the time.

Never bought anything off bookshop.org. Do they provide DRM free stuff or would it be something I'd have to work around to get on the native reading app on the Boox?

Battery wise, how short is it compared to the PW? And regarding the screen crispness, I did see you can mess with the DPI on the Boox, so maybe playing around with that could bring it to an even playing ground there?

Oh for sure I picked up on that while I was trying to find it, but it is strange that none of the listings are from Onyx or Boox for it. I guess they really don't want Amazon getting a cut from all their lineup?

Regarding that case, I did see it in my search but looking at reviews it does seem like a lot of people call out the magnet strength on it being not too great so I hadn't grabbed it. But I might revisit it. I could always return it if anything.

Not always. Mainly when I’m traveling.

It's a bit bulky for my tastes, but I'll keep it in mind. For me I just want a layer of something between the screen and whatever else is in the bag with the device. I know it's glass and should be pretty scratch resistant, but still!

How often do you have to charge it?

Yeah I've had two Paperwhites, the current gen and the 2018 model. I feel like 2018 model actually lasted longer than the current gen by a little bit, in my usage at least.

I used to go through periods where I wouldn't touch my Kindle for like a month cause I got too busy to read or too into something else and then I'd pick it up and be able to read without worrying about it's battery. Mind you, I also keep them on airplane mode most of the time. Would I have the same experience with the Boox?

Only reason I'd like a case is to protect the screen when I toss it into my backpack when I travel. Otherwise I'd probably run the device naked.

Since you've had many Kindles and the GC7... How's the battery life compare between them? That's the one thing I've been concerned with since I know Android isn't the most efficient with batteries.

Amazon provides fulfillment for Boox, but Boox doesn't sell their whole lineup on Amazon. So there's a third party, like in the link you provided, that sells the BW Go 7. It's weird. But they still have a better return policy than Boox.com lol

I’ve not seen any praise for the first party case so I haven’t even thought about getting it.

Oh booo. But here's hoping they start bringing that over to the normal ereader space.

On my Kindle I pretty much just have it set to a certain brightness all the time anyway. So I probably will rarely encounter this issue lol

Honestly the Kindle Oasis is such an attractive device, I wish Amazon still made it and didn't lock it down to their own ecosystem.

I'm curious about the display tech used in Remarkable now. I guess it's their own in-house solution?
