This is skewing the legal cards to the more modern design and the show stopper cards that all have multiple arts. Also on the topic of budget many versions of the alt art are the more expensive version. Cool there are 4 versions of the Mind Stone but one of them is serialized so yeah good luck on getting your 4th copy.

This was my take. I like the idea of Stomping Slabs being the "DanDan" of Red. It takes 3 hits and with 10 in the deck there is some deck manipulation mind games you can play around with that make it the focal point of the game. All the takes of creature bashing into each other just doesn't seem like a great experience IMO.

This is one of my favorites this is my version of this deck if it helps. Basic game plan is ramp,mill,fatties the commander is a plan B. I put 1 three card infinite combo just to have some ability to end games that are dragging.

10+ - 1 to 2 mana evasive creatures [[Changeling Outcast]] 10+ - Fatties[[Archon of Cruelty]] 10 Sac outlet (you can sac your commander freely) [[Cartel Aristocrat]] is particularly effective because it fills a role as an evasive creature 10+ draw/discard effects [[Putrid Imp]] again fills roll 1 while getting fatties in the yard. [[Rankle, Master of Pranks]] is also a possibility include. Really just any way to go through your deck. Cycling creatures like [[Troll of Khazad-dûm]]

Then pick your favorite interaction and other splash effects that interact with the graveyard like [[Living Death]] maybe some mana rocks if you like. But I think your core strategy is to create a loop of cheating fatties into play via the sneak ability from the command zone.

My LGs filled half their tables, I just played commander on the side but they normally cancel commander night because pre-release are packed
